Mr. Dern's house was just outside of the main part of the city. It was a giant, off-white mansion with at least a hundred windows and doors. Every single light was lit as if they the Derns were having a giant party. She walked up to the two French doors and rang the doorbell, which responded with a harmonious tune.

A skinny, black-haired lady with enough makeup on her face for three other women answered the door. She wore a white feathered boa matched with a white, short, strapless dress and had nothing on her feet. She had a wine glass in one hand and the other was on her hip.

"How can I help," she looked Maya up and down, with a disgusted look, "you?"

"Oh, you must be Mrs. Dern!" Maya pulled off a fake and polite voice, even though this woman had just basically insulted her. "I was hoping-"

Maya was cut off by a giant screech of a laugh that came from the tiny woman standing in front of her. That laugh must have been what little mice heard when an owl came and snatched them up, right before they were eaten.

"You... you think I'm... his wife?!" She heaved in between a few words to catch her breath from laughing.

"Excuse me, you aren't his wife?" Maya acted innocent. It would and should not be a shock to anybody that knew or heard of Mr. Dern that he would have a few mistresses, and a few was an understatement. She simply put on an act for this mistress.

"You'd think I  would marry that old baboon?! I'm insulted, but I find it oddly amusing that you think I would marry him! Ha! No, no, no... I'm just here... for the night," she smiled and nodded her head as if to reassure herself.

"Oh, sorry for assuming. May I talk to Mr. Dern? I am, was, a worker of his," she smiled, trying to please this mistress of his.

"I'm not sure, let me go ask very quickly," she ran off back into the house while screaming for Mr. Dern. As she ran off, Maya thought of her perfect plan. She had put on the most scandalous black dress she owned and did her make up for once, but she definitely did not amount to the woman that had stood right in front of her.

The lady came back, heaved for a minute from running, and finally said that Mr. Dern will see her. The mistress led Maya to a room, that looked like it could have been an office, if it was cleaned. Maya plopped herself onto the couch and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, a man, in his mid-thirties walked in while fixing his blazer's sleeve's buttons, not even looking up at her.

"Ok, June lets get this over with," he spat out, still without looking up. Maya waited again for him to look up, and when he finally did she wasn't met with the surprised look she was expecting, but instead with a smirk. "Oh, hello, Maya. Come to beg for your friend's job back?" Mr. Dern and Maya had met once before, at a business party that June had dragged her to. They talked for awhile, and it seemed Mr. Dern really fancied her, but she never answered his calls.

"No, actually I've come to talk to you. I thought about it for a long time, and it was rude for me not to answer any of your calls. Can we start over?" Maya smiled while standing up and letting her hair down.

"I see, you finally came to your senses?" he smirked again, walking close to Maya. "I'm not sure if we can start over, I need something in return."

Maya almost gagged as she walked closer to this excuse of a man, but she was persistent. She placed her hand on his shoulder, and whispered in his ear, "Like what?"

"Like this," he grabbed her waist and smashed his mouth against her's. Once again, she almost threw up, but she kept up with it, for June. Even when he started to unzip her dress.  He threw her onto the couch and took off his shirt. To her surprise, he had a six-pack and a v line. "Like what you see?"

"Very much," she smiled as she placed her hands on his abs.

 "Eager, are we?"

Eager to kill you, she thought to herself. He went to unbuckle her bra, as Maya went to go grab the knife she had hidden in the couch. He was almost done unbuckling it, and she hadn't found it yet. She was about to start worrying when her hand grasped the grip of the knife.

"Oh my-" he didn't get to finish his sentence because of the knife through his chest. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, his face turned blue, and he dropped into Maya's lap.

"There, there," she patted his head. Although she was pleased with herself for coming up with the perfect way to kill this monster, she started to worry and get mad. She didn't know what to do with the body. She looked around and saw no place to put the body. Until she looked up, where there was a vent, coincidentally a little bit bigger than Mr. Dern's body. Maya started to climb onto his desk and tried to pry the vent open. It was no use at all, the damn thing wouldn't budge, and the bolts weren't loose either. She was about to give up on the vent until she saw a coin on Mr. Dern's desk. She picked it up and started to unscrew the bolts; surprisingly, it worked. Once the vent's cover was off, she went to Mr. Dern's body; he was so much heavier than she had anticipated. But she managed to place him on her shoulder and climbed onto the desk again. She placed the body into the vent, and pushed it, so it wouldn't fall out. Then she placed the vent cover over it, bolted it up, and left the office.

Right before she was about to leave the mansion, the mistress walked over to Maya. "What did you guys talk about?"

"Nothing. As soon as he saw who I was, he left and never returned. I waited, but I thought he went back to see you. You haven't seen him?" Maya was always surprised at how good she was at lying. It was one of her best traits.

"No, I guess he forgot about me," the mistress turned and walked away.

When Maya arrived back at her apartment building, it had to be around three in the morning, but to her surprise, she saw June standing outside of the apartment building. June had her arms crossed over her chest, and she looked angry; not angry, furious! "What did you do?"
