Before humans existed there was The Land and Sea. Lovers that were closely connected and equally far apart. Coexisting and going on about their daily lives under the bright lights that bring them life. Throughout their hardships they stayed together determined to see a brighter day. The Land was a strong, courageous and complex creature who spent its days working its tedious job. He was covered in prideful mountains, soulful valley's and vast rolling hills. Despite his beautiful qualities, The Land was spiteful. He grew temperamental volcanoes, unpredicted cliffs, harsh tundra's and carnivorous jungles. If it was anyone who was able to overlook his dangerous facade it would be The Sea. The Sea was an incredible beauty to behold. Beneath her waves she sheltered many mysterious creatures. She keeps her innermost self hidden from the various explorers that live on The Land. When she is upset, The Sea is a raging tempest and when she is at her best, The Sea is tranquil and serene.
Together before anything other than them existed the Land and Sea and content. Their relationship was raw, full of passion and genuine. It is easiest to fall down and become the worst versions of ourselves when we are at our absolute best. When humans came along it became difficult for the Land and Sea. Over time the Land grew weaker and insecure because of the "industrialized" building that the humans had made. Instead of prideful mountains there were colossal towers. Instead of soulful valley's there were endless roads and highways. Instead of vast rolling hills there were vasts amounts of garbage and waste. Unfortunately for the Land, the only things that he had of himself that remained were the temperamental volcanoes, unpredicted cliffs, harsh tundra's and carnivorous jungles. Over time the Land resembled an animal caracas, it barely had any skin or muscle left, ravagers waited around it to deliver the final blow. The Sea was not faring any better on her own. Oil clung on to her tainting her like a second skin or a demon attached to a soul. The creatures that she nurtured could no longer be protected. The creatures were becoming stuck in the waste that flowed off of the Land and through the Sea's oil.
Both the Land and the Sea were in ruin. Their beauty was undermined by the destructiveness of human kind. Like King Midas but only worse we destroy everything we touch. The more we use this curse, the quicker the Land and Sea dies off. There are a faithful few that try to hold on and expose the beauty of the Land and Sea but every day it gets difficult. In the end the Land and Sea fight and hold on together.
