Ch 1 Sect I: Arrival.

Written by Humberto Alcaraz.

The city was dormant and in blissful peace. The cool morning air around a young woman's light brown skin. Her breath was visible in the cold dawn. The dawn had little light but enough to see what was in front of her. She was almost approaching the city of Renvel and as she walked at her calm tired pase, she could hear the roaring aqueducts near by.

"The sun hasn't peaked from the sky yet Gilliam. What time do you think it is?" She spoke softly. Her voice innocent and yet mature.

"Four" A tall man behind her answered in a deep strong voice but it was calm and protective. Four rivers met in the center of the city and roared with their might as the citizens slept. The rivers came from the four quadrants; North, south, east and west. As they met, they made a towering spring that reached for the skies in awe. The palace of Renvel was built around it in its honor and around the palace was the city of great Renvel. Zaya smiled as she walked through the gates, along with other travelers, citizens, and merchants. By then the sun had peeked out and illuminated the streets a tiny bit. Enough to see the shadows and outlines of the city. The birds sung a wonderful morning song that added joy to the sleeping city.

Zaya was just a young-lady. She wore a matching outfit of: a black blouse that was cut to cover down to half her stomach which left her soft belly exposed, shorts that were torn at the bottom and reached just above half-way her thighs, and finally a leather jacket that had her clans emblem etched into the back. Slung around her shoulder was a katana inside a red silk wrapping strapped on her right shoulder. Coming down her back over her breast was her dark black hair. Her bangs covered a bit of her eyes mostly her forehead.

As she walked, some of the people around her stopped to stare at her. Most men would look at her young developed body. Her breast and thighs followed by her plump rear were robust and well shaped, appealing to any man. She was a true work of art and a beauty to gaze upon. Her silky ebony hair was another of her many qualities as well since it was; silky, soft to the gaze and touch. Some, if not the majority of the people, would stare at her eyes. Her eyes were a dark yellow-orange. For most people it foreshadowed danger and a huge ominous scare, but hidden under that was a hint of sexual appeal. Over all she was a beautiful enigma full of mystery and an attractive appeal.

Then the men would look away at the sight of Gilliam because they would believe he was her father. Behind her was her loyal, trustworthy guard and best friend, Gilliam. His dark, spiked hair and pointy short beard made him look rather frightening, but it was his eyes that showed true fright but yet again a gentle expression only seem by Zaya. He wore a light armor that was one fourth of an inch (.25 in) thick with a black travelers cape that went around his broad shoulders and down his thick chest and back. His dark-green armor made him feel naked and so light since he is used to wearing one inch armor. His muscles aren't bulgy and don't restrict his movement, in fact, they were thicker than the average man.

Zaya was very tired. She and Gilliam would walk for twenty hours daily and then sleep off the four that remained. They were used to much worse and that is why they sat down and enjoyed the gentle breeze.

The Western gate, much like the other gates, had a long road full of different types of shops. Inns, Pubs, Dinners, Armor shops, Weapon shops and other types of shops. The road was wide and on each side were the stores, however, some merchants would sell their goods in the middle of the road with carts or stations that were hand made by them. A lot of them offered food such as; dry meat, little pastries such as candy, chocolate, muffins, sweet bread and other little snacks. Other merchants sold jewelry, armor, weapons and even potions.

One second it was some what calm and people would come out of their homes and set up their shops. As soon as the sun was a quarter of the way up in the sky, the street bursted into action. Bakers turned on their ovens, Blacksmiths fired up their forges, merchants would sell their goods and consumers would go up and down the street getting what they need.
