Cartina Family Trip(Part2)

12:00 AM Christmas Eve

Mickey...

"The man is going to fix the tire in the morning and we will be there for Brunch. I promise, Jiminie." I told him as he laid in the bed with the kids. They was alreaydy sleep. I went out of the room to go and take a shower. This man had a nice ass cabin. The front door opened and he came in with wood.

"Sorry for the noise...the wood burns faster during the wee hours of the morning and we will probably wake up with frostbite." Avery told me as I responded, "Its fine. I am just about to shower."

"Cool. I am about to put on a pot of coffee and warm up some stew beef...want any?" He asked with such respect as if this was my house. I had already intruded enough.

"No for the beef, but Ill take some coffee." I told him before going off into the bathroom. I texted Deejay we had car trouble and that we will be there in the morning.

After showering I came out in sweats and a matching jacket. I walked into the kitchen and seen him shirtless pouring the coffee. He had a few scars on his chest and stomach area. He looked up at me and stated, "You are right on time...if you need any milk or sugar its—."

"Nope. I like my coffee black." I told him as he smirked. I grabbed the mug as we walked into the living room area. I use to hate dark coffee, but Loso was all for it...so he put me on. I swear he would talk the a turtle out of his shell.  We took a seat on the sofa and I complimented his home and the decor, but I did point out that Christmas was a day away and it was not a single Christmas light, tree, or even ornament.

He chuckled and sat back, "Christmas was Donalds thing. Donald is-was my husband. He died a little over a year ago in a car crash. We was coming back from a trip and I fell asleep behind the wheel. I swerved and hit a car. I was in a coma for three days only to wake up and find out the love of my life was gone. You look pretty young and probably cant relate to losing a love on—."

"Sorry to cut you off, but I recently lost the love of my life. The only boy I have ever love—."

"Boy? Oh wow. You are gay." He asked.

"Yes. Well, I was actually born a female but identity as a homosexual male. I have been dealing with losing him for about the same amount of time as you lost Donald. Its tough raising three kids, 2 being under the age of five. Running a Bar half time while trying to balance my photography business. So I can understand." I told Avery before taking another sip of my coffee. He looked at me and replied, "Wow.That is crazyy,  Im sorry for your lost. But Yeah thats why you seeing no decoration. Its hurts too much. Donald and I grew up next door to eachother. Our fathers ran a conjoining farm in Calgary. We use to help them during the summer and one thing lead to another and the cows wasnt the only thing being milked—." We both chuckled and Avery exhaled, "He was the light of my days."

"I know the feeling-um so those scars are from the accident." I asked and he looked down at them and he confessed, "Actually no. I had some internal bleeding and my kidneys and liver started failing and I needed a transplant fast. The doctor said some GWS patient from New York had died and they was going to try to have the organs transferred here...they made it within 30 minutes and that young man saved my life....but every morning when I wake up I ask myself without my husband can I go on—."

"I know the feeling, but you have to keep on and keep busy. Your life was saved for a reason and you may not know that reason yet, but God works that way...it will come to you and when it does you will know." I told him before smiling.

"And you wanna know the funny part....I recieved the information for the guy who organs saved my life..I wanted to search him up and send his family a thank you gift but havent had the courage to do it. The letter has been pinned to my wall for 6 days." He told me. I slowly placed my hand on his shoulder and exhaled, "Thanking them may just be the perfect gift for that family...for them to know their loved one saved a precious life." It went quiet and we stared at one another before it became slightly awkward. I slid off the chair and stated, "I should get some sleep...see you in the morning. Thanks Again for the Coffee, Avery."
