6 months later...

Days are now a challenge.
Everyday when I wake up, it's fear.
We all live in constant fear in what kind of day Colby is going to have.
Some days are good and he's mostly normal, if not completely.

But there are others.

Others that make us fear for our lives.

Days where I wonder if Colby is even Colby anymore.

...like today...

I woke up and stretched. My room was dark, curtains closed, and lights off.
It had to be like this.

Let's put it this way.

Twilight is a lie.

Light doesn't make a vampire shine.
It makes then irritable and physical.
Not to mention it hurts them.

So we covered all windows.
We carry flashlights to help us see, and to scare Colby away on bad days.
No light is safe.
LED, fire, sun, or phone.
None.

I stood up and slipped on some clothes.
I grabbed my flashlight and walked to my door.
I opened it and saw a flashlight trail down the hallway, followed by Amanda's scream.
I bolted down the hallway and shined my light in front of me.
I saw Colby holding Amanda against a wall.
I shined the light on him.
He hissed and disappeared into the darkness.
I handed Amanda her flashlight.
"Did he bite you?" I asked. She nodded her head no.
"Okay, let's just go to the garage." I said helping her up. She nodded.

We turned the garage into the "light room".
We have it lit up, and we had a kitchen built in there.
We have night vision security cameras put throughout the house and in there is the monitors.
We have games, beds, food, everything we need in there.

Me and Amanda shined our flashlights around us as we slowly made our way to the garage.
"Colby?" I asked when I heard footsteps behind me.
"*deep chuckle* Yes Samuel." Colby said.
"Me and Amanda are going to the light room. Just leave us be." I said.
"Okay." He said sneakily.
I nodded to the nearest camera since I knew Elton could see and hear everything from the cameras.
My phone dinged.

Elton- he's coming up behind you. He lied. Run.

It read. I shined my light behind me watching as Colby disappeared into the darkness. Laughing maniacally.

Me and Amanda ran to the garage and closed the door shut. "God, Why did he turn out like this". I said saying it lile it was my fault because, in reality it is. I was the one who brought him here. I was the one who gave him my blood. No wonder he became Cole, he's the complete opposite of the Colby I know. He's reckless, evil, and very, very dark. "Sam chill, its not your fault, he turned evil because of that vampire that turned him". Elton said, reassuring me that it wasn't my fault.
"Yeah but also, the day...I...I saw all the signs. Him hissing and complaining his neck hurt, the Erie feeling he was complaining about. I saw it all. But I didn't do anything." I said hanging my head.
Elton sighed.
"So? He didn't say anything either. I didn't say anything. Sam it's not your fault." He said. I sighed and nodded, deep down knowing it still was.
"Why don't I cook something while you watch what Colby is doing in his free time". We watch him to see what he does now since he hasn't fed in 6 months. What I saw was the most gruesome and most painful thing to watch. He was feeding on himself. Legends say that vampires that feed on themselves turn angst, they have more mood swings and its gruesome and painful to watch because deep down i know that he's starving and just wants to eat or drink something but cant.

As he attempted to break his own skin, I felt a sting in my neck.
"He's thinking about me." Brennen hissed grabbing his neck.
"Me too." I said.
I looked back at the camera and just about fell out of my seat.
Colby was right in front of the camera.
He was breathing deeply as the blood gushed from his wrist.
"I know you see me." He laughed.
"You want me to hurt. You wanna see me in pain!" He yelled shaking the camera. My heart shattered as I stepped away from the monitor.

I heard faint pitter patter of feet walking down the hall.

BANG BANG BANG

"LET ME IN!!" He screamed banging on the door.
"YOU WANT ME TO DIE! LET ME IN!!" He screamed. It was like a horror movie.
Devyn and Amanda screamed and ran to their boyfriends.

BANG BANG BANG

It rang through the garage.
I looked at the monitors.
The camera pointing to the garage door.
Colby's body was banging on it with everything he has, yet Cole was controlling his mind.
"Let me in Brennen. You remember the days we would film. All I wanna do is film with my buddy. Come on Bren. Just open the door." Cole said.
I held Brennen back. Cole was mischievous and could trick anyone.

"Sam." A voice said.

A voice no one had heard in almost 2 months now.

A voice that was so angelic it could cure diseases.

A voice that helped me through all the tough times.

All our heads turned to the door.

Listening to this lost voice.

The voice of Colby.

Our Colby.

"Sam don't open this door ever. Please. Stay in- ah.- there." He let out a shriek of pain.
"Colby?" I questioned running over to the door.
I didn't open it, I just stood close to it.
"Sam don't, no one can leave this room. Sa- AH!" He screamed in pain as Cole began to come back.
"Sam please! Promise me!" He cried through the door.
I stayed silent. I looked back at everyone. Tears were streaming down their faces along with mine.

"I can't promise you that Colby. I'm sorry." I said.

BANG

"NO! LET ME IN!" Cole screamed.

Colby was gone.
