The next day I woke up early. I'm not sure why, all I was doing was going to school.
I got ready and put on dark blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a black jacket. It's a pretty basic outfit I guess.
I walked out of my room, meeting Noah in the hallway. "Hey, wanna walk to school with me?" I ask and he nods. We walk downstairs and Noah makes his way to the kitchen. From where I was standing, I could see AJ passed out on the couch. I sighed and walked over to him. I grabbed a pillow and chucked it in his direction.
He groaned and sat up. "What was that for?" he asked as he rubbed his eyes.
"We need food," I said and crossed my arms, sitting down on the chair.
"So,"
"So, go get some," I said and he rolled his eyes.
"Why can't you?"
"Because I have school, and I have to work," I said and stood up.
"Okay, what about Noah?"
"Are you kidding? He's only fifteen, it's not safe for someone his age to be alone in this town," I said and AJ nodded.
"Yeah, okay," he said. "I'll go out later."
"Good," I said. "Thank you."
"Yeah, you're welcome,"
Mine and AJ's relationship was confusing and complicated. He was the boss of the house, obviously, but he never acted like he was. Which is why I have to step in sometimes. He doesn't at all show it, but I know he appreciates Noah and I for staying with him. I know he would be lost without us.
I turned around and walked into the kitchen. "Hey, are you ready?" I asked Noah. He was sitting on the counter, eating a poptart.
"Yes," he mumbled while he had food in hi mouth. I rolled my eyes, walking over to him. "You can't have this for breakfast," I said and took the poptart from him.
"We don't have food," he said and I nodded.
"Which is why AJ is going out later," I said as I ruffled his hair. He smacked my hand away.
"Hey, I just did my hair and you ruined it," he sighed, running his fingers through his light brown hair.
"Who are you trying to impress? Lydia?" I smirked. His face turned red.
"No," he said quickly.
"Right,"
"Oh shut up, who are you trying to impress? Corbyn?" He tried to smirk back.
"No one, Corbyn doesn't care about my clothing," I said and Noah rolled his eyes.
"Whatever,"
___
"Have fun, don't stress about your project," I said to Noah as we entered the school yard. "Oh, by the way, Corbyn's walking you home after school."
"Why?"
"Because this town is not the safest. I thought you liked hanging out with Corbyn,"
"I do," he said and looked over at Lydia. She smiled and waved. "Bye, Alex."
Noah walks over to Lydia and I see Corbyn making his way over to me. "Hey, beautiful," he says and kisses my cheek.
"Hi," I said. "Are you still able to walk home with Noah?"
"Yeah," he says, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
We walk into school, the group of popular girls rolling their eyes at us. I knew they were jealous that a girl like me got a guy like Corbyn. "Ignore them, babe," Corbyn whispers in my ear.
"Oh my god, why is he still with her?"
"He's one of the brokens,"
"Yeah, because of her,"
"He's too good looking for her,"
"They should just break up already,"
The harsh words never really bothered me. I knew mine and Corbyns relationship was strong.
"See you later, baby," Corbyn says, kissing my head and walking into a classroom.
I walk to my locker, messing with the lock until it opens. "Hey, loser," I hear someone say behind me.
I glance over my shoulder, seeing Caroline. We used to be friends, but then she met people who changed her.
"What Caroline?" I sigh and put my bag in my locker. Across the hall, I see Noah standing with Lydia. He waves and I smile slightly.
"You need to stay away from Corbyn, he's too good for you," She says and I see the anger in her eyes.
"We've been together for a year now, do you really think he's going to leave me for someone like you?" I ask and cross my arms.
She slams my locker. Lucky for me, there wasn't much students in the hallway.
"Yeah, I'm sure he will," she spits.
"You don't even know him, he wouldn't do that. Oh, and he knows about all the shit you've done to me in the past. It made him strongly dislike you," I say and she glares at me. She brings her hand up, punching me.
It wasn't hard, it didn't hurt, but it made my nose bleed. I wipe my hand under my nose as she walks away, seeing blood on my fingers. I roll my eyes and lock my locker.
"Alex, are you okay?" I hear Noah ask. I nod and make my way to the bathroom. "Why did she do that?"
"Because she's a bitch," I say and he laughs.
"Does it hurt?" He asks and I shake my head. "Are you going to tell Corbyn?"
"No, I don't want him to worry about me. Don't tell him please," I say and he sighs.
"Okay,"
