Pain worth enduring

My eyes become pathways for Lake Victoria

While my heart has the Great Gulf of Eden through it

Numbness is what I wish to acquire and retain

For the only feeling my heart and soul have acquainted is pain

Pouring out my heart only leads to a destruction of me

Now I can tell a tale of how things used to be

For the bliss and paradise we had has come to an abrupt end

Broken we are and not an easily restorable bend

Boom...boom...boom...is what my heart does as I behold you

Obstacles we have overcome and me prays we see this through

Not only Mondays but all our days seem blue

Great pleasure it would be if this eyesight is proven to skewed

My arms wound around me to hold my pieces together

Heartbreaking it is to realise I am not strong enough for both of us

Only if this heavy storm was one that would quickly pass

And this mountain reduced to be as light as a feather

The road not taken is one that I wish to journey through

Quitting shall I not; only hoping it's a fight worth fighting

I want you to keep me in your heart as mine keeps you

Because it is most certainly you that my heart is loving.
