Here's a bit of an idea I'd like to work on. Comment your opinion, I'd like input for whether I should and possibly interesting plot pieces.
I was told I was lucky. To have "found" her at such a young age. I said "found" because I don't really know who she is or in fact where she is. All I know is that one day, back in 6th grade, I met her. It really sucks, this big thing. The phenomenon of colour. Colour was a distant concept as a child. It didn't exist. Learning about colour in school didn't even bring me the slightest accurate idea. I've been living with a dull colour ever since I met her on that day, years ago. I've wanted to find her. I know she's out there, she's close, I know it. I can feel the connection, the same feeling everyone else says they had when they found their soulmate. They say as soon as they knew for sure, as soon as they really knew them and saw them, their sight became so much more vibrant. I don't know what I look forward to more, finding the love of my life or experiencing true colour for the first time.
Coloured Blindness is set in a world that many may have imagined in the past. Inspired by a Tumblr post (where most great ideas come from), I decided I should make a story within the universe described. In this universe, one of many "AU"s wherein people have some sort of indicator of their soulmate, humans are all born colour-blind. In schools, they learn of colour, and how it works. When you meet the person you are meant to be with, your vision can either slowly or instantaneously become vibrant with colours. In some cases, such as the main character's, people meet their soulmates and they slowly gain a vague colored vision. This occurs rarely, but they get the same vibrancy as normal people do and when something occurs to make them figure out who exactly it is.
