Chapter Three

Emily's Point Of View

"Who did this to you?!" Chris yelled. I flinched away from him when he raised his voice. He noticed that too.

"Hey, no sis, I didn't mean to scare you, I just want to know what fucked up child would do this" Chris said, trying to be reassuring. It didn't really work though. I was still shaking. He put his arm back around me and we sat in silence.

"Wanna go back to the bus with me?" Chris asked looking at me. "I'll get you cleaned up and we can spend some more time together?" He said the last part as a question. I nodded my head yes and stood up. I was a little dizzy from standing up too fast and stumbled. Chris caught me with a worried face, but I waved him off and started walking.

As we walked down the street I saw Joe and his friends at the 7-11, coincidentally, that's where the bus was getting gas.

As I walked into the parking lot Joe saw me and smirked. He started walking towards me. I stopped walking next to Chris and he turned around to look at me.

"What's wrong em?" Chris asked sincerely.

"Nothing" I mumbled looking down. I started walking again but Chris stayed behind. Eventually he noticed the group of boys staring at me.

"Who are they?" Chris asked nodding his head toward Joe.

"No one" I said, looking anywhere but at Chris or the boys.

"Emily" Chris sternly said, "who are they, and why are they staring?"

"They're no one okay Chris? Can we just get into the bus?" I practically yelled at him.

He mumbled something to himself but stalked past me onto the bus. I was just about to hop on when a "hey Emily" made me turn around. then I felt a slurpee hit my face and heard the boys laughing in the background. I quickly ran up the steps and shut the door, wishing for once in my life to just go home.
