Massive thanks to @UglyEater for being the first to request an imagine! Also, I'm sorry this took so long, but uni is killing me... Enjoy!
It's nearly midnight, and you're lying on a bench in the playground near your flat. Earlier that evening when Joe suggested that you both make the trek, you'd scoffed; however, now you are glad you agreed. Your head is on his chest, listening to the beat of his heart. The chilly air has finally settled around you, so you decide to stand and move to warm yourself up. Joe's eyes follow you as you shake the dust and dirt of the park bench off your clothes. He looks too comfortable, you decide.
You lightly tap his arm, "tag!"
At first, Joe thinks it's a joke. It's only after you start running away that Joe realizes you were serious about playing tag. He moves from the bench and breaks into a light jog, chasing you around the playground. You stay on the ground for a minute, but then you begin the climb up the playground equipment. Joe is quick and climbs up right behind you. You stand, rushed breaths tangled together, at the top of the playground equipment.
"You caught me," you exhale heavily.
The air around you suddenly feels charged with different emotions. He takes a second to glance at your lips, and when he looks back into your eyes they are filled with emotions that he can't begin to comprehend. When your lips finally touch, the world around you stops, as if it too had been holding in its' breath. There's no battle for dominance, just two people holding onto each other as if this is the last time they will experience this sort of ecstasy. Your fingers find their way into his hair, and a sigh escapes him because it seems as if he has been waiting for this moment since the dawn of time. Your tongues collide, and it's sloppy, but it's also beautiful. You both pause, the lack of air catching up with you; you stay close though, your foreheads connected and eyes still closed in fear of what will happen when the moment ends. His hand lingers on your cheekbone, his thumb rubbing slow comforting circles across your flushed cheeks. You step back, tilting your head to look into his eyes. As your lips twitch into a smile, his do too.
"You make me feel alive," Joe smiles interrupting the silence that had surrounded you
"I'd certainly hope so," you laugh. "It wouldn't be right if you were dead."
"Obviously I'm alive, but you make me feel things that I have only ever seen in movies," Joe explains. "I don't have to pretend when I'm with you. It's easy to just be with you."
"You'll never have to pretend with me, Joe."
"I know," Joe replies. "I think I'm falling in love with you."
You grin, "I think I'm falling in love with you too Joe."
"Good. I'm going to kiss you again now," Joe adds.
"I'd like that."
Your lips touch again and you stay like that - kissing atop the playground equipment - for a while enjoying each other.
