Chapter 1
As I enter consciousness, my whole body is numb. I can feel the dead, crunchy grass under my arm, but I can't move my fingers to run them through it. My feet are bare, wind tickling my toes as it rushes by. My eyes are closed, leaving me unknown of my surroundings and keeping me in eternal darkness. Dread fills me for I must have been knocked unconscious while in the hellhole. Purgatory. Where I was sent when death overcame me on Earth. By the cursed Winchesters, leaving me to rot down here and stopping my overruling of the Earth. This place was my ultimate hell. Actually, it's not just mine. Purgatory was designed to be every monster's Hell. It's the one place even the most powerful monster couldn't stand to go to. When told to describe Purgatory, I'm left speechless. Once you come here, you don't forget it. It's a landscape of pure dread. The sky here is a dark gray, not light blue like was back at Earth. The grass is dead and yellow, not full and green. Dead trees fill the rock hard dirt, twisting at strange angles to fill the air with chaos.
If I've been knocked out here, I'm most likely in serious danger. I need to get up. As I struggle against my own body weight, I take my first deep breath and immediately know something's wrong. Purgatory's air is toxic, poisonous, deadly. The smell of blood, waste, and ashes from old campsites should be filling my nose. But instead, the air entering my lungs is clean, fresh, new. My body's immediate response is to suck in as much of the new air as possible. And that's exactly what I do. I breath heavily, taking deep gulps, as my back arches from the severity of it all. After a few minutes, when my lungs can't possibly hold anymore air, I settle back down and take control of myself.
I allow myself to think clearly, letting my instincts take over. Where am I? My fingertips are starting to regain motion, tapping lightly on the ground. After a few moments of concentration, I'm able to slowly pry my heavy eyelids open. At first, all I see are colors, blending themselves together with no shape or form. The colors are bright, much too bright. They start to form shapes, trees, clouds, grass, and rocks. The whole world evolves around me, the bright colors and shapes changing and moving around me. The numbness has left my forearms, allowing me to move my arms up and wave my fingers through the chill wind. My shoulders are starting to regain motion and with a grunt of effort, I drag myself up into a sitting position. The wind rips harshly at my face, pushing me back down and making me struggle to retain my position. As I glance around at everything, only one thought comes to mind. I am definitely not in Purgatory anymore.
