(Celeste Martinez)
Crap... I'm not supposed to miss taking the pill. I never have. This is the first time. But where could it be?
I didn't know what could happen if I missed taking it, but I guess I'm going to find out. I shouldn't panic, its better to think through. I don't remember putting it in my bag... so crap. I must've left it home.
Maybe in my rush this morning, I forgot to shove it in my bag. I'm supposed to take it every other day, about lunchtime. Its almost lunch. Maybe, if I end up finding it soon, cuz it probably fell in my locker, I might avoid any mishap. Oh, please be in my locker...
I rushed back outside after dumping my belongings back into the bag, crossing my fingers. I sprinted through the hall, it was a short distance anyway.
Please...please...please...please...
I begged silently, putting in the combination. Swinging it open, I frantically dug through the the locker and found nothing.I pulled out books and threw them on the floor, throwing garbage that I forgot was even there over my shoulder, digging into junk.
Not there. I gave up and just decided it was home. But I'm kinda scared... what if something bad happens to me? Well, I doubt... I've been taking it almost all my life now. I must've forgotten to take it at least once... this cannot be the first time.
And the sad thing is, I don't even know for sure why I take it. My parents never told me, nor did I ask. The most they said was that something bad could happen if I missed taking it. But they never told me I was sick or something... have a disease.... did they?
I honestly can't remember. My bad.
Isn't that dumb, I'm taking a pill that I'm not entirely sure why.
"Well s-"
The bell for lunch rang with a vibrating screech that echoed in the hallways. After a few seconds, the classroom doors swung open and hordes of students profiled out in sync, driven by the motivation to pursue the fuel that they all needed and desired... food...! (Unless you have anorexia..)
I don't know people with anorexia in school though... welp, its not like I know much people in school anyway. I always end up seeing someone new every so often. New to me, that is.
I stooped down to scoop my books off the floor, then threw them back into my locker, giving up with a sigh. Out of fear of the school's janitor catching a fit because I littered, I picked up my garbage, dropping it into the bin in front of Ms. Fletcher's Geography class.
"Ms. Martinez!" I swung my head in the direction of the call. Ms. Fletcher caught sight of me and beckoned me into her classroom. I stepped right in. There were a couple of other students chatting, gathering their belongings or just about to leave.
"Yes Miss?"
Pushing her glasses further up the bridge of her nose, she smiled. "I'm impressed by your Undersea Sedimentary Rock project, I could clearly see all the effort you must've put into it. Where did you get those rock samples?"
"They were in the area that was shoulder length at Fortmonde bay. Its really not that big of a deal."
"The essay was well written, though you could have written more," she raised her eyebrows at me. How much more could I write about rocks? I tried to put everything I learnt about rocks into that essay. Everything she taught us. But at the end of the day, I really could've done a little better. Welp. "Anyway, you were given the highest mark in your grade, so I congratulate you. You lost a few marks in your essay, but scored high nonetheless."
