It was 1:53 AM the last I looked at the time on my phone. I'd been on the road for nearly 7 months now, moving from motel to motel. The cheap-o motel I was staying in was cold and drafty, the winter winds coming off the Great Lakes were strong and they swung the screen door open and closed. Drafts came in and made me too cold. Between the door opening and slamming and the cold room I couldn't sleep. Suddenly the door stopped slamming and the room felt warm, I jolted up and the thing I'd been running across the country from had found me. It was 8 feet tall and had the legs of a goat, and the body build of what you would imagine the wolf-man to have, and the paws of a bear. I shuttered in terror, this was the first time I'd even seen the beast from this close, I could probably reach and touch the freak of nature, it had a black lion like mane but the head, it was a mess of rotting flesh and chunks of bone and skull showing, I think the head belongs to a bear as well but I was never sure. I was on my feet in half a second but that's all it took the beast to swipe its paw and launch me into the wall. The drywall shattered and I fell to the ground. It picked me up and hoisted me up and pushed me into the ceiling and then dropped me back onto the floor. It grabbed me by the neck and dragged me across the room to the door where with little effort it kicked out the door. It dragged me across the parking lot and into the forest. The snow falling hit my face and melted. All my running and hiding for nothing.
