Scene 2- Homeroom

Homeroom teacher – Okay kids we are going to switch seats today.

Jamie (really 10 days before the end of the school term and now is a good time to switch seats? I have been sitting in the back of this classroom since the first day of school and now she moves me. To top it off she moves me right next to Jake.) Excuse me Mr. Bernard can I switch seats?

Mr. Bernard – All year you have been pestering me about moving your seat and now you have a problem. I think you should enjoy your new seat assignment are we going to have problems?

Jamie – No ...no problem.

Scene – loud speaker Mr. Bernard please come to the main office

Mr. Bernard – Everyone open your math book to page 210 and start questions 1 -110.

Jake – Jamie I know why you wanted to switch seats.

Jamie – I really have nothing to say to you Jake you have been very hurtful to me lately.

Jake – that was not my intentions. Actually I was wondering when exactly di d we stop being friends. We use to be so close in the middle school.

Jamie – we hang out with people in different circles so that pretty much explains why we don't talk or hang out anymore.

Jake – so how are things going with your new boyfriend?

Jamie – things are fine. Plus Rrn is none of your business.

Jake – no problem Jamie ...I understand and I won't bother you anymore about us. Please let me know if he does anything to hurt you. I am really sorry about what happened. I let my feelings for you get in the way of my feelings for you. Do you think you can ever forgive me? I am really sorry.

Jamie – I guess I can but Jake I just need you to back off a little. I forgive you but be on your best behavior.

Jake – Oh I am so relieved...it really bother me to think you hated me. By the way can I see your math notes from yesterday?

Jamie – I see you still are slacking off when it comes to school work. Here you go.

Jake – thanks Jamie. What are you doing for summer break are you going away?

Jamie – no not this year...I was able to get a part time job at the bicycle shop cleaning the bikes after they return from being rented.

Jake – that is so funny I was just hired as a mechanic for the bikes. I guess we will be working together good thing we made up otherwise this might have been a real pain working together during the summer.

Jamie – Yeah going thing we made up. (I hope this wont be a problem with Ren...I will make sure that I tell him today so that there are no misunderstandings) By the way, hows your older brother liking college?

Jake – Jimmy loves school but he is coming home for the summer. I think he was able to get a mechanic job at the bike shop also so you will be seeing him over the summer also. Maybe we can all go to the beach together kind of like how he would take all of us when we were kids.

Jamie – yeah that was a lot of fun. Remember he took all of us to the water park.

Jake – Remember we went down that huge waterslide together and bounced us all out at the end send us flying across the pool in different directions....ha ha ha. That was so funny.

Jamie – Oh yeah wasn't Jimmy girlfriend with us on that trip. Remember she had to walk to the car with no shoes because her flip flop broke...that was so funny. But you know what was really nice is your brother he was so sweet to her. What about you younger brother John. He will be coming to this school in the fall also right

Jake – yeah "J" will be here in September. This school better watch out he has turned into such a lover man.

Jamie – I bet he is..all of you guys are so handsome It is a shame to have so many gorgeous guys in one family.

Jake – oh really am I included in that count?

Jamie – Of course you are...you are one of the most handsome guys in this school. Stop being a bad boy and I am sure the girls will be falling all over you. Right now the way you dress and act is scaring the girls away.

Jake – Oh is that so...I see okay maybe you can help me transform for September.

Jamie – (smiling) I cant promise you anything ...but I will make some time to go shopping with you'

Jake – great it is a date.
