The years that had passed since Hoseok's and [your name]'s break up had left the older of the two terribly alone. He had sworn to himself to never date anyone or sleep with anyone, that is unless it was the one that he loved. Sticking to his words, he quit his job and moved far away from the city. He couldn't bear to stay there anymore, especially if his ex-lover were living there. Now, he didn't move because of the boy exactly, more like he couldn't stand to be in the city without the boy.
Now, after two years, he was living in a small house just outside the city that he had once called home. He was completely alone, for he had adopted a small dog from his neighbors. They had both become too sick to be able to care for the small animal, so with reluctance, they signed the dog over to the brunette. Now, the two were left in the hospital - the same hospital in which [your name] had stayed in - and the dog was living happily with its new owner.
The small ding of the stove timer woke the brunette from his trance. He heaved himself off of the beige sofa and padded over to the stove. With shaky hands, he pulled the oven open and peered at his dessert that sat inside. Ever since the breakup, he began to pick up more and more hobbies, just hoping that they would take his mind off his lost love. Baking had been one of the random things that he had chosen to pursue, and he excelled at it.
The boy plucked a toothpick out of a small cup on his granite counter and placed the small piece of wood into the dessert. Much to his pleasure, he pulled it out without any batter sticking to it. "Finished," He whispered, mouth curving up into a smile. He couldn't help but smile, for the day had brought a very special occasion, which caused him to bake the dessert and many more.
The boy had woken up early, almost early enough to see the sunrise. He hadn't paid much attention to the time much, but after a shower and changing his clothes, he had checked his phone, and there staring back at him was the time and date. His heart had ached for a mere second at the day, but he had left to back without a care. The day was something that he loved and cared for, so not doing anything would have harmed him.
"Mickey, hon, I have to pull this out of here," He chuckled out. Due to his excitement of the treat being done, he had woken up Mickey, which caused the dog to bolt towards its owner and bounce around, curious to see what may be going on. "Back up and maybe I'll give you a treat." Once the last word had popped out of his mouth, Mickey backed up and sat down, becoming perfectly still. "I spoil you too much!" He giggled out.
Everything seemed perfect to the two, and in a way, everything was. They were both together because they enjoyed each other's company, so they both could never feel down. Even when Hoseok had a hard time at work, or when Mickey was misbehaving, they both found the brighter side to the situation.
