(A/N) Smut warning for this chapter!
The void beside him pulled him from his sleep. Miles reached out with his hand but felt nothing but the sheets. He sat up slowly, rubbing the sleep form his eyes. He moved to get out of bed, intent on finding where his boyfriend had slipped off to, when he noticed a note on his bedside table.
Good morning, my human. Don't get out of bed! I'm downstairs preparing a surprise and I need you to stay put! I love you x
Miles couldn't stop the smile that broke onto his face. He giggled as he let himself fall back. He pressed his face against the pillow Taehyung had slept on and breathed in, the sweet scent of the angel making him moan just a little bit. As if by providence, he heard footsteps approach and the door slowly opening. He sat up and grinned at the sight of his mother, Charlie and Taehyung.
The angel was carrying a tray of food, Charlie was balancing three presents and his mother was holding a camera. Miles instantly pulled the sheets up, unable to fathom why his mother would need a camera when he was half naked and probably looked awful. Taehyung set the tray on Miles' lap before grabbing a discarded shirt and letting Miles put it on. He smiled gratefully before taking in the sight on the tray: Three beautifully made chocolate chip waffles that smelled like cinnamon, drowned in chocolate sauce and covered in strawberries.
"You guys! You didn't have to go through all this!" Miles exclaimed happily.
"But we wanted to! We love you." Taehyung smiled sweetly at Miles, pecking the tip of his nose. He sat down on the bed next to Miles while Charlie set the presents down and flopped onto the beanbag. His mother began to take photos, unable to stop herself from smiling. The four of them talked while Miles ate his breakfast, mostly about his birthday expectations and excitement. When he was finished, Taehyung took the tray from him and put it on his desk before handing him his presents. He gave him the smallest first but Miles already knew what it was before opening it.
"Yes!! Thank you, Mom!" It was the PS4 game he had been badgering everyone about for months.
"Hey! That one is from me!" Charlie said, offended. Miles looked at his mom who winked. Understanding slapped Miles in the face: It was from Charlie but paid for by Mom.
"Silly me, I'm still kind of tired I guess! Thank you, Charlie!" Miles beamed, making the young boy grin in delight.
"Alright, this one is from your Mom." Taehyung chuckled, handing Miles the second gift. The brunette was stunned by the weight and pulled the wrapping paper off, curiosity having removed his smile. He sat and gaped at the box on his lap.
"Did I get the right one?" Mrs Winter asked nervously after several seconds of silence.
"Mom, it's exactly right. It's perfect! Thank you so much!" Miles exclaimed, having regained the ability to speak. He held up the box, turning it in awe. Possible placement ideas were already flying through his mind as he drooled over the beautifully crafted replica of the Normandy SR-2 in Alliance Colours that lay within the box.
"Okay, my turn!" Taehyung couldn't hold in his excitement any longer as he shoved his rather large present at Taehyung, his box smile as wide as it could go. Miles set down his Normandy box and took the box from Taehyung. Ripping the paper off excitedly he let out an audible gasp at what met his eyes.
"Tae...This is...Oh my God!" Miles had lost the ability to speak once more as he held up the box containing a high quality, fully articulate figure of the Guren S.E.I.T.E.N, his favourite Knightmare from Code Geass. "Thank you!" The brunette flung himself into Taehyung's embrace, unable to contain his laughter.
