Walking into the arena, I was astonished by all the people in Blackhawks regalia. Including me, Anna also talked me into wearing her Kane shirsey. She wore her Toews jersey that she bought for herself a few months ago.
As we got to our seats, we were amazed by how great they were. Just behind the glass of the Blackhawks bench.
During the warmup, I wasn't paying much attention. I was on my phone scrolling through Instagram when Anna said "Kaner keeps looking at you", she nudged me.
When I looked up, sure enough he was looking at me. Our eyes were locked for what felt like forever before Andrew Shaw shot a puck at his shin pads. Patrick looked away and laughed in Andrew's direction and said something.
"He was looking at you dumb ass", I laughed as I brushed it off going back to my phone.
"Oh come on, you were literally just staring into each other's souls before Shawzy came to ruin the moment", she laughs and bumps me with her shoulder.
I look at her and smile, shaking my head. "He probably did that to those girls over there too" I laughed.
"No way! You are way prettier. Plus, I doubt they have any clue what's going on" she laughed.
We were both looking at those girls with their boobs practically hanging out of their shirts, we looked at each other and laughed.

I tried to ignore it but I kept noticing Patrick taking glances at me. Everytime he came for a line change, I'd catch him glancing at me. The fact that he was looking at me before I looked at him gives me butterflies.
In the first period Patrick scored. When he skates by the bench fist pounding his team, he's looking at me the whole time.
"See, he's totally checking you out" Anna shouts over the cheers and Chelsea Dagger.
In the second period the Jets scored twice. Patrick didn't look at me much, must've been because he was trying to focus.
In the third, the Hawks scored four times. After that, Patrick was back to taking the occasional glance at me. I still got butterflies each time.
The Hawks won 5-2.

"So, what did you think?" Anna asked as we sat on the couch.
"I thought it was pretty cool, but I'm probably not going to go again" I laughed.
"Yeah, thought you might say that" she laughed too.
Wow, I was pretty tired. Just think about how the players must feel.
One player I particullary thought about was Patrick Kane. Why? I don't know. I guess it's like one those crushes you get. Like the one on public transportation. You basically fall in love for about twenty minutes or so.
"Patrick kept looking at you" she winked at me from across the couch.
"He was looking at you" I tried to force a smile.
"Seriously, El? When are you going to realize that you are quite the catch?" she mumbled.
"When someone decides to jump in the air and throw their glove up for me" I laughed.
"You tell the worst jokes! Really? A baseball reference" she laughed.
We sat there for about twenty minutes while she recapped the game, even though I was right there beside her the entire time.
"Well, I'm gonna go to bed, goodnight El" She says as she gets off the couch.
"Goodnight Anna" I say getting up behind her.
When I get to my room, I change out of my clothes slowly into my pajamas and go to brush my teeth and wash my face. Anna was just leaving before I went in.
"But seriously though, Patrick was looking at you" she stifled a yawn.
I just smiled, too tired to argue back.
When I got back to my room and laid down, I think about how completely dumb it was of me to get worked up over Patrick Kane. I giggle, it's not like I'm ever going to see him again.
