°˖ ✧Jimin had never particularly enjoyed the fog that always seemed to mosey through the streets of Busan like the old lady who woke up at 2 am to feed the pigeons down by the docks.
Today was the exception.
He'd just finished his paper for linguistics, ending by airing his sources and closing his laptop. He'd hopped on the crappy dorm room shower of his (not that he was grateful for it, considering some of his friends had to share a communal one with the rest of their floor) and rinsed away his stress. He'd gotten a text from Jungkook a few days ago about meeting up over summer break, but Jimin felt a bit edged.
In the divorce his mum had kept their house and Jimin had only gone back once to collect his things. The entire place still stung the back of his eyes to think about. The one night he'd stayed, he made a sugar run with Taehyung to the convenience store only to find Hoseok shuffling awkwardly in line with his shoulders above his ears.
Good. Jimin dismissed him, even finding it in himself to toss a carefree wave and knowing smile at the one of two boys who'd broken his feeble little heart. At least he had the decency to feel shameful about everything.
Taehyung hadn't been as forgiving, however. Jimin had to hold him back when they spotted him in the biscuit isle; the poor loyal fool had had his arms full of Tim Tams, Pepero, Pumpkin Monaca that was still on the shelves, peppermint Oreos (t'was the season) and several baggies of trollies; only to be tossed to the floor as his tan skinned best friend launched himself down the hall and only held back by Jimin leaping into a piggyback to console him. Things hadn't been the same between the two cousins since their year of havoc.
He was relieved he hadn't seen Yoongi. Despite everything that he'd been through and the time he'd been given to heal after the divorce had settled, he didn't go home. Changed his number. Didn't speak to his mother. Didn't say a word when seeing Mr. Min packing up the rest of his things when he'd come home that winter.
It'd hurt when the father of the man he thought he loved came in with sorrow in his old, tired eyes. He felt guilty, not only for this man that'd been through marriage after marriage, but also for his mother.
Sure in the long run it was probably best they split, but they loved each other. Jimin new that and he was still to blame just as much as Yoongi was.His mother tried, she did. She offered to get him therapy after the matter- saying she'd sue the Mins if things were different. But Jimin just shook his head.
"Everything that happened was brought upon me for a reason. It's not like I didn't... want him, I guess? It was my doing and I'm sorry I got between you and a happy life with Mr. Min. Maybe once Yoongi and I go off to college you two can get back together." Jimin said slowly, guiltily. His mother smiled their shared trademark Park smile and rubbed his back without another word; setting off towards the kitchen to make some sort of cookie she could only hope would mend whatever they'd lost during this whole ordeal.
Now Jimin resided back in Busan- the city he'd always loved and missed more than anything.
Namjoon and Jin visited often and even came to some of his dance recitals and troupe competitions. He was double majoring in bioengineering and business, but still preferred spending his time out on stage and in the practice room rather than in a lecture hall or chilly, sterile lab.
He'd probably end up switching next year- deciding 'Fuck it'- and declaring himself a dance major. His friends all agreed he'd probably be happier and better off- thought his mum would definitely be a little disappointed in him.Chanyeol would also visit often. They'd both decided Jimin was in no way ready for a boyfriend yet and definitely not ready to be in a steady non-platonic settlement. But neither of them could say they were disappointed with where they were. They were absolutely and without a doubt genuine friends and Jimin was in no means complaining.
The tall giant of a boy would hitch a ride with Taehyung from Daegu and head up just to spend the night in with the others, playing guitar and drifting in and out of post-finals sleep.
