She is Not Special

Everyone wants to be special.

The experience is craved.

There is a girl out there, who only observes.

She already tried her best to join in with the rest of them.

Them.

The ones who get to feel special every breath of the day.

They take advantage; they forget.

But she does not forget.

How can she forget her first friends?

The ones that had left.

She was not special enough.

She never felt special again once they left her in the dust of isolation.

There was a boy.

Who ruined it all.

But she forgets that.

That's what should be forgotten.

Not amazing little things that the popular kids ever so often take advantage of having the pleasure to experience.

She stands in the shadow of her brothers.

she stands in the shadow of her new best friend.

She stands in the shadow of her fear.

Her fear rose because of her early realization.

No matter how much she wanted to feel it...

No matter how hard she tried to remain attention grabbing...

She wasn't enough.

She was not special.

But past is past.

She had hung on for far far far too long.

Still with each passing day...

She was forgotten.

All the others weren't.

Why?

Because today's society has grown cruel.

She isn't ignorant now and shouldn't have been then.

She stands alone.

On the chair.

Then as her feet no longer touch the floor.

Life spills out of her mouth, the mouth that said so many meaningless words.

She spent too long being nothing more than a shadow.

People were sad for some time, she was not hated...

She was now floating around were people thought she stayed.

In the shadows...

She was forgotten in no time.

She is not special.
