Brooklyn’s POV

“Sky! Come on, we are leaving in 10!” I yelled to my best friend Skylar from my bedroom. Today we had a small gig for our two girl band ‘Hope and Chance’. I finished curling my long, light brown hair and applied some light pink lipstick before running downstairs to find Skylar sitting on the couch with a large bowl of buttery popcorn watching ‘Titanic” for the second time today, we both loved that movie. Skylar Hope was a quiet, shy, and pale girl with an amazing voice and guitar and piano playing skills to match. She reminded me a lot of Taylor Swift, but she is too modest to see her remarkable talent.

“Sky, are you seriously not ready yet?” I said in an irritated tone while pulling her off the couch and dragging her into her room as she groaned because she would rather stay home instead of trying to make a living singing. Skylar always procrastinated like this before a concert; mostly because of nerves, but also because of her laziness.

I threw her a floral top and some white skinny jeans as she started on her make up. She straightened her short blonde hair, applied light make up to her already flawless face, and walked out of her room while texting someone on her new, white iPhone 4S. “Can you ever get off that thing, Sky?” I said with a chuckle and she slid her phone into her back pocket. She and I had made a bet 2 days ago that she wouldn’t be able to go a week without her precious cell phone, and it looked like I won that bet. “Ha! Now you owe me Nandos!” I said with a bright smile.

“I’ll take you tomorrow.” she replied in a mock sad tone and grinned to me. “So where exactly is this concert again?”

“The Hix!” I replied with a smile; it is my favorite restaurant.

“Ok, let’s go then” Skylar said while sliding into the driver’s seat of our red Subaru and putting the keys in the ignition.

I turned on the radio and ‘One Thing’ by One Direction started playing, and Skylar and I started to sing along to the song we both loved.

“I DON’T I DON’T DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS… BUT I NEED THAT ONE THING! AND YOU’VE GOT THAT…ONE…THING” we sang along as the song came to an end.

“That was One Thing by One Direction!” the radio host said. “According to their website they will be in London for the next couple days! Now I bet there will be girls trying to search for the famous boy band, good luck and happy hunting girls!” the host continued with a chuckle, “now for our next song we have “Glad You Came’ by the Wanted, enjoy!” Her fake cheery tone finished and Skylar turned off the radio.

When the radio host said that they would be in London I heard Skylar gasp from the drivers seat and she bounced up and down a little bit. She looked like a 5 year old bouncing when she was really eighteen.

“Hear that Brooke? They are going to be in London! We are in London! (Skylar tended to state the obvious when she gets excited) Can we ppppllleeeaasssee go find them tomorrow?” Skylar said to me with bright eyes. She and I both loved the British-Irish boy band.

“Fine” I said to my excited friend and sighed, I was really not interested in standing with thousands of teenage girls to catch a glimpse of the hot boys.

“YAYYY!” Skylar squealed like a little girl who just got candy and her face lit up.

Skylar had a big crush on Zayn Malik and I was in love with the Irish cutie, Niall Horan, it was a coincidence that they both happened to be from the same boy band.

“Oh! We are here!” I continued in a cheery voice as Skylar pulled into the parking lot of the packed restaurant and we both grabbed our guitars from the trunk of the Subaru.
