Wild Romance
Chapter 1
Sam's pov
As I crossed the street, I heard a voice calling out to me. “Watch out!” a girl yelled with wide eyes. I quickly turned around to see a sleek, dark blue car screeching towards me. I made my brain work in enough time to move out of the way and back on the sidewalk.
The vehicle managed to finally squeal to a halt a little ahead from where I had been standing. I was relieved I had moved out of the way otherwise I would have definitely been hit. Rachel grabbed my hand in relief and she drew out a steady breath before then hitting me in the arm.
“Look where you’re going next time, silly. I thought I was going to have a heart attack or something. Oh by the way my name is Rachel. ” I quickly nodded, a little shaken up. My arm was going to have a bruise though from the impact of her punch. "I'm Sam."
“Oh my god. The driver...he’s getting out. Oh god...” Rachel said nervously as she squeezed my hand.
Oh great I thought. I’m going to get a yelling at from the person who almost run me over. Just what I need the first day at school...
I decided to look anywhere but at the driver, I had an apology already scripted in my mind ready to say when they scorned me. I heard the car door shut and footsteps...and Rachel’s intake of breath before her hand clenched and unclenched repeatedly to try and get my attention. I looked sideways at her but she was continuing to stare in awe at the driver whose quick footsteps drew nearer. I was surprised at how silent the driver had been whilst walking up to us.
Curious as to why Rachel was glaring I took a glance at the person who almost killed me. He had finally approached us and as I was about to say that I was seriously sorry for standing in the road but my words were caught in my throat. I caught sight of his face, so this is what Rachel was seeing. He was a 6ft, gorgeous stranger who happened to have amazing blue eyes. He ran a hand through his hair seeming to look a bit shocked if anything.
“Are you alright?” he asked, a hint of concern as he studied me to see if I had any cuts, bruises or missing limbs. His voice fitted his looks precisely, with just a slight hint of an accent behind the words.
“Y-yes...” I managed to squeak. I tried to clear my throat and remember what I was supposed to say.
“Do you have any idea what could have happened! You were this close to being hit, by me!?” he said this with slight anger now. Disbelief in how mentioning that he could have run me over sounded being said aloud.
I gulped, remembering what to say but only managing to whisper the words, “Sorry”.
“No, it’s perfectly fine. No-one was hurt but next time look where you are going”
“I really am sorry” I totally felt guilty now, it must have been written all over my face. The man just nodded, a bit rattled by the whole ordeal and turned around to storm back to his car.
I bit the inside of my cheek as I watched him get into the driver’s seat before revving his engine and driving off. I didn’t realise I was holding my breath until I opened my mouth and a gust of air blew out from my lips.
“Wow. Did you see him?” was all Rachel could say. She was grinning from ear to ear. “He was gorgeous and those eyes...boy could I get trapped in those beauties” she continued as she finally let go of my hand and stared off dreamily to where the man had driven away.
I wasn’t really listening to her; I was studying my numb hand. I totally forgot that I was holding onto Rachel and I must have held onto her tightly because I was now trying to regain the blood flow in my fingers.
