'Right! Everyone get out of the corridor and get to class! No teacher has time for you messing about in the halls, now GO!' Mr.Smith shouted. Mr.Smith was the headteacher at Forest Green boarding school for girls. He was quite a tall gentleman but not exactly the best looking. Very well dressed but not so easy on the eyes. He always had a 5 o'clock shadow, his eyes sunk into his pale white face from tiredness and his lips were all scrunched up. Bless him, he was about 57 now.

'Did I or did I not just tell you to go to class? What's your name? It appears to have slipped my mind'. He stared down at me making me very small. I looked up and replied 'My name is Emily sir. Emily Kirtley. I..I...I'm new here. It's my first day. Um, I'm a bit lost.' I started to slowly back away from him as I back into another teacher, making him drop his books on the floor. I jump and quickly turn around to help him pick up his books. Mr.Smith picks up my timetable 'Well, looks like you're in luck. Emily, meet Mr.Tennant, your acting teacher. You will be with him for first lesson.' He chucks my timetable amongst Mr.Tennant's books as he walks back to his office. He turns around to shout 'And Mr.Tennant, set a good example to this young lady and be on time for your lesson'. Mr.Tennant stands up, dusting himself off and straightening his brown suit 'Of course Mr.Smith. My apologies'

He comes back down to my level and I gazed into his deep brown eyes. 'Are you okay, Emily, wasn't it?' I just nod. I couldn't speak. I was so mortified I had just backed into a teacher! 'I'm so sorry sir. Mr.Smith was leaning over me and he really scared me. I should have been more aware of my surroundings.' I gathered his books all together in a neat pile. I had put them in alphabetical order completely by chance. He stood up holding my timetable while I held his books for him. I looked past his books with nervousness in my eyes 'Shall we go to class?' Mr.Tennant looked at me and smiled before swapping my timetable for his books 'Yes. Let's go. I suppose I'll be able to give you a small tour, but my classroom is a 3 minute walk away'.

We walked down the corridor at a leisurely pace. He pointed out many different classes to me, but I couldn't take my eyes off him. His messy brown hair, which was laced with gel so he could spike his hair up. He was around 6 foot 1 inches tall. The brown suit he wore was tailored to fit his skinny body just right. He wore black high top converse on his feet. As I stared, I completely didn't notice him turn around to look at me. 'Emily...Emily...Emily?' I shook my head to regain my focus. 'Sorry sir, what were you saying?' He looked into my eyes and smiled. Giggling, he adjusted my blue scarf tie 'I was saying, that we are at my classroom now. It's only polite that I let ladies into my room first. So, after you Miss Kirtley.' He gestured his hand towards an open door. A sign was on the large oak door reading:

Room 42A
Mr D Tennant
Acting

I walked into the classroom to see about 8 girls staring at me. I grabbed my long blonde hair and pulled it over my left shoulder, before quickly looking for an empty seat. The only one available was at the back of the classroom. I was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new textbook and logbook with my name on. I pulled my chair out and sat down as Mr.Tennant walked to his desk. He glanced over the room, then cleared his throat.

'Good morning class! I apologise for my lateness, but I was helping our new student. Class, I'd like you all to give Emily Kirtley a warm welcome. Emily, why don't you come to the front and tell us a bit about yourself?' He gestured me to come to the front of the class. I felt a million butterflies in my stomach. My heart was about to beat out of my chest. I stood up, took a deep breath and adjusted my uniform before walking to the front of the class. I stood next to Mr.Tennant.

I could only let out a small whisper 'Um, hello. My name is Emily..' Mr.Tennant put his hand on my shoulder and said 'You need to speak a little louder dear'. I took another breath and looked at the girls staring at me, before passing out.

I don't know how long I was out for, but when I woke up, I had Mr.Tennant holding my hand and smiling at me.
