I grumble rubbing my eyes as I head to the bathroom to make myself look halfway presentable. Tomorrow is finals, Ruby and I have been study buddies all week but haven't actually got to study. Instead, like the procrastinators we are, we have been watching movies, pigging out, and basically anything other than studying.
Today was different though, we have to cram so much our heads are going to burst into tiny pieces all over the library like a shower of tiny brain bits. I drag myself, now in my white shorts and a Nirvana tank top, to my band poster filled room. Next grabbing my backpack and phone along with some money, just in case we go out to eat lunch while we are out.
I grab a apple as I walk out the door swigging my keys on my finger and head to my car that's settled in my drive way. Ruby doesn't live that far away so its a easy drive there, just a block over in a white two story.
Plopping my butt into the drivers seat I start the car and scream, fangirling a bit hearing the song 'Heart Break on the Big Screen' by 5 Seconds of Summer fill my car. This is seriously my favorite song ever. I blast the radio some more then I turn it down so I can call Ruby as I pull into her neighborhood and soon driveway I park and call her. Not being able to just ring her door bell, because if her strict parents know she is going anywhere even school related things she wont be able to come. They want her at home everyday all day besides school, which is the only place they will let her go.
Even with that rule Ruby is unstoppable, she sneaks out all the time I guess you can say good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught, in her case. The phone rings a bit before her voice fills the line with a quick hey as she walks out the door in a pair of hole covered shorts and a t-shirt with a pineapple on it.
"Sup homie!?" she says in her best gangster voice, hopping in the passenger seat. My first reaction being to laugh so hard that I felt like my lungs would soon dry up and fall off.
"Not wanting to study, how about you ma homie?" I finally gasp, laughing is tiring!
"Same as you, I guess the whole not studying all week was a bad idea" Ruby laughs. Once I can fluently breath I turn the key, heading towards the abandon library in the middle of nowhere we found. Hoping it would be a little less busy than the other ones because everyone is doing the same thing as us, cramming.
We enjoy the long car ride screaming out lyrics of our all time favorite songs. I pull up in the cracked parking lot of the library. It looks old, creaky and most of all unstable more and more as we walk closer it looks worse but we don't care and walk right threw the doors, both of them making the sound we all would assume was a dieing whale.
Glancing around right off the bat I see a spiderweb, great, but oh well it's our fault we didn't start studying in the beginning of the week. We both exchange glances before carrying on threw the library looking at all the dusty books on the shelves, millions of them. Ruby finds a book and sits down on a chair covered by a white tarp while starting to read it.
I hear a door creek and my bravery is lost," Ruby, can we leave and go to a different library?" I screech questioning her.
"Not until I'm done reading this," she says wavering me away with a hand that's not holding the book. This place is starting to freak me out, I think it's haunted. A door slams all by its self sending me out of my skin and Ruby to look up from her book.
"Cammie?" she questions,"was that you?"
"Nope" I screech almost peeing myself.
