We were just about to head to the airport, when Connor pulled out his camera and started vlogging.

"Hey what's up you guys it's Connor. I'm heading to the airport with my sister Kristin, and we'll talk to you when we get there."

Connor is my best friend, even though he is 4 years older than me. We have been through so much in the 17 years I have known him.

He started YouTube a few years ago, and my parents and I would always talk while watching his videos about how he really had something special. And then, a little over a year ago, he moved to LA to start a collab channel, o2l.

We have been through so much, and the most life changing, has been mom and dad's death 2 days ago. It's unreal how much I miss them already.

They left me home alone in the house, and it wasn't long after they left that I got a call from the police saying they were in critical condition. I knew right away I needed to call Connor, in fear they wouldn't make it. When I had arrived at the hospital they were already gone. I couldn't see them or say goodbye. I had found out they were hit by a drunk driver, and he had gotten away.

"I miss them Connor."

"I know Kris, believe me I do too."

Connors POV

-recap-

"I miss them Connor."

"I know Kris, believe me I do too."

I saw Kristin tear up and turn her head to face away from me.

"Hey, hey don't cry, Kristin, don't cry please. I know it's hard to leave. I've done it before remember?"

But she just nods her head slightly and won't look at me.

"Kristin, give me your arm."

She rolled up her cardigan and reluctantly handed over her arm, I looked at it and my heart broke. She has been cutting for 2 years, but she had stopped for about 3 months, and now what do I see? Over 15 new cuts along her arm.

I heard her sniffle as she yanked her arm away from me.

She is an incredibly beautiful girl, even though she doesn't believe it. She has long, slightly wavy beach blonde hair, icy blue eyes, and a smile that could cure cancer. And it pains me to see her like this.

Kristin's POV

We were sitting by our gate, ready to board our flight in a few minutes, when a group of o2l fans spotted Connor and interrupted him in the middle of his vlogging.

Fortunately it was our turn to board anyway, so they didn't get to bother him for very long.

I gathered my carry-on and shoved my phone into the back pocket of my shorts. I always worry about not getting the window seat on planes because I hate talking to anyone but Connor.

The person at our gate checked our tickets and we headed down the tunnel to the entrance of the plane.

"Kristin?"

"Yeah?"

"I can see how hurt you are, but please don't freeze everyone out. Will you talk to me on the plane and we can blabber about random stuff like we used to?"

"I guess."

I was reluctant to say that, because honestly, I'm pretty sure were gonna be stuck next to one of his mega fans and they're not gonna shut up.

Yay for me.

I was relieved as we approached our seat that the window spot was still open. My phone buzzed in my back pocket and I took it out, seeing that Dylan had texted me and wanted to talk.

"Hey. How are you holding up?"

I replied, "Alright, guess I could b better."

"Well anyone in ur situation could and wants 2 feel better."

He made me smile even with the most normal things. Now don't get me wrong, I don't like him or anything, I've just been best friends with him since we were 5.

"Thanks for always making me feel better :)"

"Idek how that made u feel better, but ur welcome ;)"

"U always make me feel better," I replied, "but I gtg I'll txt u when we land if I can't get wifi on the plane :)"

"Okay, bai ;)"

I looked over at Connor, who as I could've guessed, had resumed vlogging. He is so stupid in his videos, and I love him so much for that.

Connor is literally my best friend. I tell him anything and everything. He and Dylan are the only 2 people I knew were always there for me. He helps me through everything. We have a closer relationship that most teenage siblings do, and I could never thank him enough for that.

"Ready Kristin?" He said to the camera which was now pointing at me.

"Yeah. Totally." I said in my most scarcastic voice possible.

I couldn't help but smile even though I didn't want to.

He put down his camera and looked over at me with the most incredibly weird face possible.

"Kristin Chayse Franta, are you ready to rrruuummmbbblllee?!"

"Oh Connor," I said laughing already at his stupidness, "I'm ready to go as long as you're with me."

I plugged my headphones into my phone and began to listen to music.

I looked out the window one last time as we were taking off and couldn't help but smile.

I was gonna miss this place. I was gonna miss my home.
