-Audio Log 1-
*A brief shuffling is heard, followed by a short cough*
I- I decided I should make this, my mom always said talking always helps me. She had to leave for town today to pick up my medicine, so it's just me here. It's been about two hours since she left, I think.
*Soft footsteps, followed by a quiet scraping sound*
I'm closing the curtains, you know when it feels like things watch you? I hate that feeling more than anything, and I can never shake it. You'll probably think I'm crazy, lots of them do. I'm not really crazy, just-
*A faint crash is heard*
-What was that? You heard that didn't you? I think it was my cat, Jonny. I'm going to check where it came from, the dining room I'm sure. Jonny always hides in the stack of papers, he must've tried to jump out and then knocked something down.
Alright, I can't see Jonny, he probably got scared of the noise he made. He's a tad bit loony, jumps at his own shadows, hisses at the wind and other such things. Thats why my mom says we get along, because we're both kind of jumpy. I don't know why she calls me jumpy, I'm not scared of lots of things.
*A chair is heard scraping across the floor*
Oh right, you can't see me. I'm in the kitchen now. I dont know if I really ran out of my medicine, maybe I can just call my mom back home soon.
No, I guess I'm out. Nothing in any of the bottles, which is disappointing. I don't like being alone, it gets really quiet. The longer it's quiet, the more I start to make up the noises. You know, start hearing little creaks and tiny whispers. I'm not sure if any of you ever hear this kind of stuff, but I can't stand it. So now I'm turning the TV on, to get rid of the silence.
*A click is heard and low talking is heard*
Better. It's strange, I just can't stand the silence. It just echoes around, bouncing around the walls. I think I'm going to try and take a rest, I'll be back in a couple of hours.
~ About Three Hours Later ~
*The tape clicks, and an exasperated sigh is heard*
God, how long did I sleep? Couple of hours? Maybe, I don't know. It's about one o'clock in the afternoon, my mom should've been home now. Maybe she got stuck somewhere, had to get somewhere to stay.
*Something is heard shifting and a thump is heard*
Don't worry, I haven't fallen, I'm just getting out of bed. I'm getting worried that my mom isn't home yet. The house has fallen silent again, I left the TV on hadn't I? Maybe not, I'll just go and turn it on again. Alright. The TV's still on, but it was muted. Had I muted it before I went to bed? You'd think I'd remember something lik-
*A phone is heard ringing close by*
God. That scared me for a minute. Let me get that.
*Click*
Hello? This is Analise.
-
Mom! Mom where are yo-
-
Oh. The car broke down? Is it being fixed?
-
For a couple of days! You won't be back, until...
-
...Yeah.... Don't worry, I'll be fine. Love you Mom.
*Click*
*Breathing is heard*
O-Okay, something's gone wrong with the car, it's in a repair shop. Mom says that they have to ship in the part to fix it, and that it'll be a couple of days until she can get back. I'll be okay, I've gone without medicine before, even if it was years ago, I know I'll be okay.
Awe, Jonny's just come into the room. God, is he purring? Listen to this.
*A loud purring is heard close to the mic*
That's loud, isn't it? He's funny, going from terrified to lovey-dovey in a blink of an eye. It's almost like he goes through different forms of himself, odd right? Maybe he needs medicine too.
*A creaking sound is heard, distantly*
You know, I wonder how this is all going to be. I mean, me. Talking to you.
*Sharp laughter*
It's funny really, you're not even here. Just me and Jonny, but it's nice to have someone to talk to, no one ever really likes to talk to me. I'm walking through to my room and Jonny's padding close behind. I'll keep talking tomorrow, maybe this'll help me for the next couple of days.
