Simone Lee hadn't asked for the life that she had been thrust into. She hadn't wanted to be part of some kind of supernatural war, or a toy that any creature could use when they needed something.

Being a clairvoyant, one of the only clairvoyants in the world wasn't what she wanted to be.

Especially if she was supposed to make the decision of whether or not the human realm would be involved. She didn't think that it was very fair, she didn't want to choose the fate of the world. She didn't want anything to do with making the decision of whether or not innocent people would be played and used as if they were chess pieces.

She had always known that she wasn't normal, the multiple years of the detention, and trouble, and yelling parents. She had always been prone to dangerous situations, and no matter what, somehow always managed to draw attention to herself.

She could start from any of the experiences, from the time in first grade when she had somehow gotten the raccoons around the school to follow her around. Her teachers had petrified and accused her of feeding the animals, when she hadn't even known where she was supposed to even find the animals.

Or perhaps the time in sixth grade when she had gotten into an argument with Samantha Bobafit, and had said something about her getting hurt. Two weeks later, the pigtailed girl had broken her arm. She had been accused of threatening the girl, when she had gotten hurt from a volleyball competition.

Though the story should start on the first day of junior year. That would make the most sense, as her life really took a toll on that day.

Simone groaned boredly as she looked around the hallway as she listened to the students around her. They all seemed to have done something interesting over the summer, hung out with friends. And what had she done? Stayed inside because her father and stepmother wouldn't trust her with learning how to drive, getting a job, and her sisters wouldn't let her have a social life.

She pursed her lips as she grabbed her bag from beside the bench she sat on, and stood up. She started towards her first hour class, which was Acting 3. It was the only thing that she was even remotely good at. And the only thing that any one trusted her with doing. Maybe they thought that she could pretend someone she wasn't.

She sighed as she walked into the room, waving at the teacher, Mr. Holly, who was actually pretty cool. He was in his mid-thirties, and was totally more friendlier and easier to talk to than other teachers. He was fresh out of college, one of the newest teachers, and super easy to relate to.

Simone slumped down into a chair near the wall and his desk. She sighed and set down her bag down beside her chair, before jumping when she heard a male voice.

"How was your summer, Simone?" Mr. Holly asked as he got up from his desk.

Simon sighed softly and shrugged, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, "the same as always, I guess. It could've been better, but you know. My perfect family made it hell."

"You know, you could always work at the theatre downtown. It would give you some break from all of them," he offered.

Simone smiled weakly at him, "I would, I totally would, Holly, and you know that. But my dad refuses to let me get a job." She let out a soft sigh as she glanced up at him.

He seemed to say something, before the bell rang. She shrugged and playfully pushed him towards the front of the room. He let out a small chuckle and walked to the board, beginning to introduce himself.

Simone tuned him out, as she had heard it before. She usually stayed around his classroom until the volleyball and cheerleading teams were out for the day. She had gotten pretty close to Holly, and sometimes even got away with calling him by Trevor, his first name. She glanced around the room, looking at all the posters and items from musicals that the school had put on.
