She was born different. She was a dragon. No spell was powerful enough to hide her in human form so he gave her a ring and necklace in the shapes of dragons to wear and hide her so the dragon hunters wouldn't find her and kill her. She was only a baby. He left her on some stranger's doorstep and both were never seen again.

18 years later...

Julie was just about to graduate. She'd been waiting for this for years but unlike other teens her age, she was different. She had a ring and necklace both in the shapes of dragons. She could never take them off. It was, in a sense, bound to her soul. She tried everything, even witchcraft, but nothing worked. Every day and night her mother would tell her a story about a man. This man was just out of high school and he was raising a baby girl. Until he discovered she was a dragon. Each day as she grew she received features of a dragon: tail, wings, body then a full-fledged offspring of a dragon. He knew to keep this quiet, so he went out very late every night to get things he needed and the only other person who knew was the innkeeper. Then one night, there came a knock, one like a gunshot...BOOM BOOM BOOM. "Who is it?" he asked in a tentative sort of way. "A dragon hunter. I am here to make sure there are no dragons," said a man of stature and great class. "There are no dragons here sir, just me and my daughter," said the man of dragons. "May I come in and see her then?" asked the dragon hunter. "Just give me a moment, I am putting her to sleep," said the man of dragons, and it was true. He was putting the sleepy baby dragon girl to bed in nonflammable silk of the finest colors you can think of. He covered the babe whole and then let in the dragon hunter. "I apologize for taking so long. She is really hard to put to sleep, if you know what I mean," he said. "I do," said the dragon hunter, "as I have a little girl myself." The man of dragons laughed, "One day, maybe our daughters will become great friends." "I hope," said the dragon hunter, "that my daughter will not turn into me." "As do I," said the man of dragons.

Julie Moonlight was one of only two gothic girls in school. She had deep red lusciously curly hair. Her skin was white with no beauty marks or moles. Every girl in the school wanted to be a flawless beauty like her except one. The other gothic girl, Louisa Magica. Louisa was as white as porcelain and had midnight black hair. She was also a flawless beauty. When they first saw each other four years ago they hated each other. There could only be one gothic female on Buhach Colony High School campus. One day, the instructor decided to pair the two up for an assignment. Of course it was a drama assignment. Basically they had to portray kindness and friendship in this exercise. They two girls hated each other with a passion. You could say they almost loathed each other even though they knew nothing of each other. The girls had to portray the first day of school. So they got up in front of the class and walked around until they bumped into each other. "I'm so sorry. It's my fault for running into you. My name's Julie. Julie Moonlight," said Julie in the most sincere voice she could muster for her arch nemesis. Now it was Louisa's turn. "Oh don't worry the fault's entirely mine. I'm Louisa by the way, Louisa Magica. It seems as though we're both lost in this school of ours. What classes do you have?"

"Well, I have pre-algebra first period with Mr. Sanchez, science with Mr. Obad, English with Ms. Gonzales, art with Ms. Ross, Drama with Mr. Brachman, and Choir with Mr. Humple. What about you what classes do you have?" asked Julie.

"Wow, what a coincidence, I have the same classes but instead of art I'm in martial art fighting with Mikakashi-sensei. Maybe in our spare time at lunch we could teach each other little things about what the other has no experience in," stated Louisa.

"Cool, so at lunch we'll do that. Is that okay with you?" asked Julie in a polite manner. She actually wanted to hang out with Louisa.

"Sure. See you at lunch," she smiled.

"And scene," they both said and bowed.

Everyone clapped and the teacher gave them both outstanding marks. They went and sat back at their desks and smiled across the way to each other. And that's how they became friends.

Julie walked onto campus looking for Louisa. She knew that Louisa would want to stay at her house this weekend and teach her as they had done all year every year about the martial arts.
