Nina
"August baby we're gonna be late!"
I paced the floor back and forth waiting to leave for Dria's dinner party. I looked in the mirror, impatiently adjusting my dress and re fixing that one loose curl for the 100th time. I wanted to be early for Dria and to of course make an entrance.

"Alright, baby I'm ready." Said August. He came down buttoning up his suit and adjusting his shades. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him, I started getting flashbacks of when we first met each other. Even though their were $100's of dollars being tossed on me at the time, it was a special moment to me.

"Alright, lets go."

"Wait, wait." I turned around slowly, showing off my dress, flipping my hair in a dramatic way. I wanted to know what August thought.

"You look good baby." He leaned in and kissed me before rushing out the door. I rolled my eyes and followed behind. How dare he not show me any appreciation, I could find someone who can with a swift.

Chase
"Baby you look amazing." I couldn't keep my eyes off of Mia the whole time. She jumped back and was surprised by me calling her baby.

"Thank you, but I look pretty basic Chase." She pushed her hair behind her ear and went to take a seat at the table. I followed behind her and nearly fell down after being pushed into by some girl. I then realized she was a friend of Mia's after they both greeted each other loudly how most female friends do.  "Bitch! "

"Ti, oh my gosh bitch." They squeezed each other as they hugged and whispered amongst themselves. "Ti, this is Chase."

"Yeah I know, sorry for bumping you boo."

"You good." I pulled out there seats so they could sit. I sat on the right side of Mia and Ti sat on the other side.

Mia
"Girl, what are you doing here? I thought you and Marcus were still gonna be shacking it up." I said.

"Chile, we were suppose to but his last minute ass brought up this dinner for his homeboy and his girl, so I decided to tag along." She responded.

"Yeah same with Chase, but who is the girl?" Ti looked at me and shrugged her shoulders as she was just as confused as I was. We continued to talk and catch up as everyone was coming in to be seated.

Gasp

"You okay Ti?" She paused and took a sip of her wine before directing my head towards the door. I looked and saw August and Nina, and Dria and her man all walk in. August immediately made contact with me, and of course Nina did too. I turned my head quickly. I haven't seen August In so long, my thoughts were rambling everywhere.

"If you don't want to stay, we can go Mia?" Said Chase. "Yeah I'm with him." Ti nudged Marcus, who was paying her dust.

"No it's fine." I replied. I readjusted my seat and felt a nudge by Ti. I looked up and saw Nina and August sitting directly in front of me. My blood was slowly boiling because I just knew by the look on her face she was gonna start something. I guess this is what I deserved for running in the same circle of friends with my ex.

"Hi Chase, you look good. Thank you for following the color scheme for my dinner." Said Dria. Before I could speak up, she rolled her eyes and turned away going to greet other guest. Ti quickly grabbed her dinner fork to stand up, but I grabbed her reassuring her I wasn't bothered. She took another sip of her wine before leaning over to me. "Don't get me wrong, I respect all women who are bearing children, but at the same time I need her to realize that ain't shit including that baby stopping me from beating her ass." Ti said.

I just knew this night was gonna be long, and I was madly uncomfortable. Chase and Ti kept trying to make me smile and keep me sane the entire night but I couldn't focus without looking across and having August eyeing me down.

"I'm going to the bathroom." I whispered to Chase. "Are you okay, need me to walk with you?" He asked. "No." I replied. Ti followed me into the restroom.

Soon as we walked in, Nina was in front of the mirror with Dria and their other side kick. I took a deep breath and continued walking into a stall before being stopped.

"Mia. How have you been? It's been a really long time girl." Said Nina. I looked at Ti and she was readjusting her rings, waiting for the wrong move to
be made.

"I've been good Nina." I tried using the restroom again before being interrupted again.

"You and Chase look so adorable together, so are you guys just friends? Because I thought he was involved with somebody.. a man to be specific.
