That's the tiger cub, except almost no stripes.
We got to the clearing quicker than what I hoped, she tried to make docile conversation, all about stuff I didn't really understand. In truth, my only thoughts were how to get away from these insane people.
Unfortunately, the clearing isn't as clear as I left it. I suck in a breath when I realize all three males that have chased me, are sitting around the fire. Wonderful.
Ress- Ressmond's stick thin form sitting on a wooden log next to the fire pit, his thin shoulders weighed down by worry, along with that blonde, burly man sitting across from him on another log. Cullen, on the other hand, is pacing in between them, ranting - colorfully - about losing somebody. My face burns as I realize he's ranting about me.
Blondie is the first to notice me and Aurora. His bright green eyes sparkle in humor as he watches us. He shifts his wide shoulders corded with muscle, as the human bolder looks back at Cullen and Ress.
All the sudden Cullen spins around to stare daggers at me.
"Where have you been?" He growls, his hazel eyes scan me from head to toe for any injuries as he takes a few steps towards me. I stiffen as he doesn't stop, even when I am 5'9, he towers over me, causing me to have to crane my head back in order to look up at him.
My blue eyes connect with his very annoyed hazel. I have to stop myself from shrinking away from his imposing figure, putting a little more space in between us, like maybe a mile.
"Do you realize who all is looking for you? You could have got yourself killed." I feel a weight settle in my stomach.
"Says the people who kidnapped me," I glare at the idiot. They should have expected me to run in the first place.
"It was for your own good," I blink at that. "If we didn't save you, you would already be dead by now, and what do you do? Runaway" He takes a couple steps back, and for the first time I see anger flash across the faces of Ress and Blondie, behind him.
"I probably would have stayed if someone just told me what was going on." I growl, "I have been chased, attacked, and knocked out in the past few days. I might be a little hesitant to trust people right now." I yell and he looks a little taken aback.
"Cullen, we can explain while I redress her feet," Aurora says from beside me as she pulls me over to an empty log by the fire pit. Conveniently ignoring the fact that I lied to her.
Cullen sits across from me, on the log in between Ress and the blonde while Aurora disappears inside the van. The white tiger cub pads up to me, as it leans against my leg. I stare at them, waiting.
"Keep an open mind," Cullen begins, some of his annoyance dissolving as he looks around, anywhere but at me.
"It might seem a little strange at first, or after, or in general," Ress pipes up, his shaggy red hair falling across his forehead. "But just hear us out."
I glance at the fire pit, at the ground, at anything as I try to escape their intense gazes as I reluctantly nod in agreement. This has to be good... I think to myself as I breathe in the reaming scent of campfire, I always loved that smell.
"We are known as Archesian," Cullen breathes, finally looking at me, and I'm immediately confused. "We come from a continent located in the Atlantic Ocean, on the edge of the Bermuda Triangle." At that, I raise an eyebrow.
"The Bermuda triangle, really?" I laugh, "you probably could have been a little bit more creative on that one." Cullen's mouth settles into a tight line as I see Aurora walk back outside carrying a white emergency kit.
