"I didn't really mean..." I said stuttering. Damn it Alessia. You're talking to a boy not a mass murderer. Jeez. A hot boy. A voice whispered. And you don't know that. "Shut up!" I said smacking my head. A pair of blue eyes glanced at me like I was delusional. I suddenly realized that he was holding my arm. I pulled away, perhaps a little too quickly. A flash of hurt crossed his face but he feigned to a more cheerful expression. He gave out his hand. "Hey my name's Darren Scott and you are..?" Darren Scott. A hot name for a hot guy. "Oh." I reached for his hand and shook it. "Uh, Alessia. Alessia Ross." He smiled. "That's a beautiful name." He murmured so low I could barely catch it. "Excuse me?" I could feel my lips twitching upwards. His eyes shot to mine. "Oh, uh... nothing." "Right." I said smirking.
He gave out a laugh. It was clear and beautiful. Okay, I'm actually going crazy. "Can I ask you something?" He said softly. I mean if someone told me he could hypnotize, I wouldn't be so surprised. "Yeah, absolutely." Ask me anything. Okay, the voice in my head was a bitch. "Why are you here in this park, all by yourself at" He glanced at his watch. "Ten O'clock." Another question I couldn't ask. So I retorted back, 'Why are you here in this park, all by yourself at Ten O'clock?" He looked surprised before he smirked. A sexy smirk. "I have body-" He stopped himself and continued. "Strolling." I eyed him subspecialty. "If you were going to say I have bodies to hide... I'm out of here." I said taking a step backward. That caused him to laugh, for like two minutes. He was like holding his stomach until he sat down criss cross on the grass. "Uhh, no. If I was going to hide bodies, one, you would already be dead, and two, I wouldn't bring peanut butter sandwiches and juice along with me." I couldn't help but smirk. "Okay, whatever you say." I said. He patted a spot opposite him while he got up. "I'm coming right back. You sit here." I sat down immediately. Seriously? What was wrong with me? I didn't know him, but I felt... safe? He came back with a huge bag just as he was about to sit down, the bag ripped open and out spilled out Ruffles, Chips and coke and loads of other things. He blushed sheepishly. "Sorry." Now it was my turn to laugh. "Were you expecting someone? I mean you don't all of this by yourself, right?" I pretended to look around. "No I'm not expecting someone." He feigned hurt. "Are you insulting my body?" He pouted as he picked up his shirt. A perfectly tanned six pack was in clear view. "Like what you see?" He teased. I tore my gaze from his abs before turning to his eyes. I came up with the first thing. "I've seen well." I said, stuttering. Don't notice my stuttering. "Stuttering, are we?" Rolling my eyes, I grabbed a pack of Cheese puffs. He sat down too and pulled out a something called Twinkies. I narrowed my eyes on it. "It sounds familiar." I muttered. He stopped and swallowed his cake. "Familiar? Where are you from? Planet Mars?" I bit my tongue. Stupid mistake. "You know guys are from Mars, right? Women are from Venus." I replied, waving my hands over my curves. I remembered seeing that book on my bookshelf a few days ago. He snickered. "Yep, you're from Mars." I slapped his hand playfully and snatched whatever he had left of his Twinkie. I stuffed it in my mouth. "Hmm." I moaned. "That was so good." That was like the only thing that I tried out myself and liked in the past week. "I know right?" He said as he tore another packet. "Hey, where do you live?" Shit. I didn't know my address. I couldn't tell him that right? "Oh, close by." It was the truth, it wasn't like I was running for miles. His eyebrows scrunched. "Right." I sighed. "Do you mind?" I blurted out. "Mind what?" He replied back. I took a deep breath. I could do this right? I'm a big girl. Memories of a ten year old , sure. I needed to tell someone. I needed to tell someone how much I hated this week. I needed that freedom. Besides, what's the worst thing that could happen? He didn't know me, I didn't know him. I would probably never see him again. But you would want to, the voice whispered in my head. True.
I cleared my throat and closed my eyes. "I'm Alessia Ross. I'm seventeen years old." "Hey, me too." He replied smiling. I shot him a 'don't talk when I'm talking look' which shut him up. "I got Amnesia a week and three days back." He took in a deep breath but remained silent. I took another deep breath and continued. Apparently, I was driving to school with my best friend Haley, when a huge truck and my car crashed. Haley got out with a few broken ribs, but I" My voice cracked, but I wanted to continue. "I forgot everything, well almost." He opened his mouth to say something but I interrupted him. "I remember school stuff, like math and science, I even remember how to play the piano, somehow." "I remember my dad, and my mom." My eyes turned glassy but I focused on a tree far away and blinked the tears away. "I'm telling you this because I'm frustrated. Ever since I got out of the hospital, everybody's been trying to get my old life back. What my favorite food was, favorite song, favorite person." I said scornfully. "My best friends gave me some chips that were supposed to be my favorite. I gagged it out. I hate it now." Everyone's trying to bring out the old me." I brought my self to look back at his face. It was expressionless. "I'm sorry I told you this." He shook his head. "But, why are you here?" I sighed. "Haley threw a party with a bunch of people I used to know. It was way too overwhelming." He gave a curt nod, as if he understood. "Is that why you don't know your address?" I nodded.
He grabbed my hands as he pulled both of us up. He dusted off invisible specks of Twinkies off his jeans. He pulled me towards the exit of the park. I looked back. "What about all this stuff?" "I'll take care of it." He pushed me lightly towards the exit. Outside was a really expensive car stood out. "Is that yours?" I gasped. He scratched his head. "Actually, ye-no. It's not. I walked here." I nodded. A seventeen year old owning that car? Must be the president's child or something. He laughed. "Did I say that out loud?" I said covering my mouth while giggling. "Or something." He replied nervously before laughing too.
We walked in silence for a little while before he turned around. "Okay, now try to find something which tells you your house is near okay?" I stopped. "You're helping me find my house?" I asked softly. He smiled. "Of course. I can't just leave you stranded there crying, now could I? What type of horrible person do you think I am?" He said raising his eyebrows at me, his hands at his hips. I smirked. "Oh I don't know..." "Don't answer that." He replied before turning ahead and walking. I snickered before jogging to meet his pace.
We walked in silence before I noticed a Chinese laundry shop which was right next to my house. I looked to my right and found out the music was still blaring from my house. "Jeez, didn't someone call cops already." Darren muttered. I groaned. "I don't want to go back in there." "Then don't." he replied back. I stared at him. "Oh, yeah? I bet they are freaking out right now." I said. He nodded. "Yeah, sure." He left my arm and put his hands in his pockets. "Right, Alessia, nice to meet you, I have to leave now. Have a great night." He said before turning back. My heart almost shattered right there. "Darren... wait!" He turned back as I walked towards him. I got up on my tip toes and before I knew what I was doing, I pecked him on his cheek. "Thank you for listening." He smiled. "Anytime." I gave him a knowing smile, before I stopped. This boy wasn't going to do it, so I would have to. "Hey," I turned back to face him. "Want to go have-" "Coffee?" he finished for me. "Sure." We both replied in unison. Smirking I headed towards my house. I closed the door and peered out of the eyehole until he disappeared. Sighing happily I was immediately grabbed by the shoulders. "Where did you go?" Haley screamed as I groaned. Not now.
