(Song by Unknown Mortal Orchestra)
-Eddie is 15 years old-
Richie Tozier has always been that kind of kid who gets in trouble often.
Yet no matter what it's about, or who he's in trouble with, he always manages to find a way out of it. No matter if it's pulling pranks on teachers, smoking on school premises, cussing out another student in the hallways, or beating up anyone who calls him names or tries to mess with him.
He's always found a way out of it. And yet again, when the principal caught Richie vandalizing the school bathroom again. He told his parents that the principal was just trying to blame him for something after all the times he had gotten in trouble with the school. His parents believed him somehow, and threatened to file a complaint about the principal's unprofessional proclaims of blaming "innocent" students. The principal immediately let the incident go, and apologized to Richie's parents. They were pretty influential people in the town of Derry.
I really don't understand why they believed Richie, though. Most times I figured they just went along with Richie's antics and covered for his terrible behaviors. Maybe they thought all of this was okay because Richie always got A's in his classes. I never really knew much of what went on at the Tozier's home.
"What're you thinking about, Eds?" Richie's voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Don't call me Eds." I narrowed my eyes at him, and then turned my attention to the bathroom wall.
"I can't believe Principal Brown let you off the hook for this." I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest, referencing to the wall.
"It is pretty great, isn't it?" Richie smiled smugly as he looked over his "masterpiece" of colorful profanity and random dicks drawn all over the wall.
"Why did you do all this if you knew you were just gonna cover it up the whole time?" I sat on the bathroom counter and watched as Richie began to paint a taupe color over the bathroom wall.
I didn't even know why I even came with him. It was a Saturday, and I was spending it here with Richie Tozier as he voluntarily painted over his so-called "masterpiece" of dicks. He even bought the paint himself at the drug store on our way over here.
"I do a lot of things for strange reasons, Eddie Spaghetti." Richie said simply as he continued to paint vigorously on the wall, making sure every inch of the paintings were covered up.
"So what's this strange reason, huh? Why did you come to school on a Saturday when you didn't even have to because your parents already covered you up for all this shit? Did you feel bad, or something?"
Richie looked over at me, and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"So what if I did feel bad? It's not the janitor's fault that there's a bunch of dicks all over the bathroom wall. I'm just a man helping another man out here."
