Taehyung never really felt connected to the people his age. It wasn't that he was pretentious; he just didn't feel like involving himself with people that didn't care about the same things he did--and normally he couldn't even vibe with those people.
He felt like a complete outcast starting his first year of high school, that title following him all through his second and into his third year. Ever since his best friend from middle school, Bogum, moved right before he start of high school, he never really bothered trying to make new friends.
Occasionally someone would start a conversation with him, but that never went too far, as they usually distanced themselves once they realized just how abstaining Taehyung was.
He never drank, smoked, cursed, or even had his first kiss. He grew into the perfect boy his mother so desperately wanted him to be, and that's what he prided himself on.
Because of this, though, he sometimes found himself as the pit of jokes, people taking it upon themselves to mock him for just not wanting to partake in those things.
"How was school?" His mother asked from the kitchen as he closed the front door, not bothering to turn around to greet him. Taehyung only gave the standard 'good' in reply before heading upstairs, not dwelling further on his completely uneventful day.
The only interesting part was when Bogum sent him a text insisting he finally made a social media account. He had been nagging for the past few weeks, so Taehyung decided to finally give in.
Instagram was downloaded onto his phone and opened, leaving a very lost Taehyung to figure out how it worked after creating his profile. The first thing he did was follow Bogum and a few relatives, not really bothering with anyone else that showed up in his "suggested users" tab.
It wasn't long before he got about ten follow requests, Taehyung instantly recognizing most of them as students from his school or people he had already followed.
He accepted them all before putting his phone aside and deciding to begin on his homework, leaving his phone on silent for the remainder of the evening.

The next morning, Taehyung woke up to more notifications than ever before--all of which were from instagram. Albeit there was only sixteen, but it was still a lot considering he usually had none.

Taehyung hesitated before accepting. He didn't see why Jimin would want to follow him, but he didn't try to think too deep about it.
He spent a few minutes shamefully stalking his page, entranced by the skillful selfies and multiple group pictures. Before he knew it, way too much time had passed and he was ten minutes behind schedule.
