"Gracie!" Clarissa laughed, watching her girlfriend climb to the top of the playground meant for kids much younger than the two of them.
"Come join me, Lis, I'll help you up." Gracie replied, grinning as she leant over the railing.
The two girls sat at the top of the playground. Gracie's head resting on Clarissa's shoulder and both leaning against the railing.
"This is nice," Gracie sighed, "I can't believe I've known you a year now. And we've been dating for, what, almost six months?"
"Actually, I have a small surprise for you." Clarissa said, reaching into her pocket and handing Gracie a packet of Skittles. "We hit six months yesterday. And, you know, I thought Skittles were appropriate." She laughed.
It took a second for Gracie to catch on, then she burst out laughing. "Clarissa Delise. Have you finally made a gay joke?" Clarissa couldn't hold her laughter in. "I am so proud. My humour has rubbed off on you. I can't believe I haven't made this joke yet. Damn." Gracie smiled at her girlfriend. "You know what we haven't done?"
"Six-month selfie!" Clarissa answered loudly, smiling widely and reaching for her phone. She snapped a photo of the two of them, feeling as though they were on top of the world instead of just the playground.

"Clarissa!" Gracie called from the couch, resting her fractured ankle on the coffee table. "Can you get me some lunch?"
"Already ahead of you, G." Clarissa called from the kitchen and walking into the lounge with a tray. "Sandwich, lemonade and Skittles. Now we're going to binge every TV show on Netflix."
Gracie grimaced.
"Every good TV show." She corrected.
"Have I told you you're my favourite?" Gracie said. "Because you definitely are. You don't have to stay every night, but you do. And I love you for it." She leant over, giving her girlfriend an awkward hug.
"Gracie Crimson. Do you know who I am? Of course I had to stay!" Clarissa laughed. "Why would I stick around for two years only to leave you on your own now?"
"You're stuck with me now. Prepare to watch all the Disney movies as well as your TV shows!" Gracie laughed, pressing play on the remote.
"If I get the purple Skittles, I'm happy." Clarissa leant back into the couch, "As long as I've got you to share the rest with."
