(AN: Hello! Any feedback is appreciated! I also have like no schedule :/ I wrote a slightly longer chapter for today :))
For some reason I was dreading this day. Because today, we have a swimming test. I really shouldn't be, I have a swim shirt and swimming trunks. Some people insult me, and say I look like a boy. I usually shrug it off and say, "atleast I'm not you!" I walked into the changing room to meet Yan, my best friend since age 11. "H-H-Hey, Le-Lexi! How are y-you?" She asked, trying to hide her stutter. "I'm fine. Just stressin' about the swim test." I told her jokingly. I opened my bag and... where's my swim shirt. WHERE'S MY SWIM SHIRT. But a one-piece swimsuit a size too small is in its place. Fuck. I begrudgingly changed into the tight black and green-swirled swimsuit. I awkwardly tried to cover my wrists with as many wristbands I had, and kept my arms to my mid-section. I didn't need any attention from anyone.
I walked to the pool in my one-size-too-small swimsuit, feeling extremely stressed. I could feel myself sweating, though the room was rather cold. Yan caught up to me, trying to hold my hand. I quickly pulled away and tried not to let her see my arms. "S-sorry, I'm just a bit cold. Do you know what the swimming routines are?" I quickly asked to change the conversation before Yan could mention anything. "I-I don't know. M-M-Mostly how high we c-can jump and whatever strokes we're d-d-doing." Yan informed me. "B-by the way, why a-a-are you s-suddenly into w-wearing swimsuits?" Yan asked, looking me over. "I... I couldn't find my swim-shirt." I answered, looking away into the pool water. "well, I l-like it! M-maybe it's a bit t-t-too tight..." Yan said, followed by a little laugh and blushed a little bit. "Y-yeah, it's a few sizes too small... but it's okay." I responded, laughing. I felt kind of awkward as I sat down near the pool, waiting for the routines to start.
I quickly glanced at my wrists. My wristlets were hardly covering my scars anymore, and I started to panic a little. I glanced over to Yan, who was looking at my arms. She started to look a bit distressed, and asked me, "Do you have a cat?" I knew exactly why. "Y-yeah, she keeps sneaking into my r-room." I said, laughing awkwardly and panicking.
Alright, everyone. let's get to work." the swim teacher, Ms. Elli, told us all. "first, find a partner, then practice your backstrokes while the other grades it. Now, find a partner." She said. I looked over at Yan, who grabs my hand and pulls me up. "so, who's swimming first?" Yan asked. "Uh, you can go first.." I say looking away a bit. "Okay! Go get the paper while I go to the diving board." Yan said cheerfully. I walked to get the grading paper, feeling awkward. I tend to feel weird around Yan. I don't really know why. I grabbed the grading paper and sat down at the end of the pool. "three, two one, go!" I yelled to Yan. she jumped with a flawless dive into the water. I started to grade, but I kept zoning out. she eventually came out from under the water by my legs. "How did I do?" Yan asked. "Great. Now you gotta grade me." I said, giving her the paper. I'm still zoning out as I do my routines.
(AN: Honestly I don't know how to end this chapter ( T ʖ̯ T) also, I have no idea what I'm trying to develop with Yan and Lexi. Please check for any grammar or spelling mistakes, and give any sort of feedback or critique ° ͜ʖ ͡ – ✧)
