Gray snow. That's what it looked like. Ashes fell from the sky, falling onto the steps of Westerburg and cumulating like mounds of old dog shit.
Veronica Sawyer's deep brown eyes watched the scene blankly. Through the loud sirens and the blinding blue and red flashes she remained...empty.
The girl's arm was latched to that of a handsome young man. The boy in question was speaking smoothly to several officers.
Life seemed to move by at the speed of light in that moment. She didn't notice the screams from several heartbroken parents as they caught sight of Westerburg High, or what was left of it. She couldn't feel her parents wrenching her from JD's arm and pulling her into a bone crushing hug. What she did see was JD's father, Bud, watching from afar. He had a knowing look etched on his face and he smirked growing on his lips.
Over the next few weeks Veronica was a walking corpse. A dead girl. Her parents had begun making plans to move. Joy.
Jason watched her as they packed up their belongings. He caressed her cheeks with both hands, all nine of his remaining fingers moved across her face. It was like he was trying to remember how she felt...what she looked like.
They held hands as he walked her into her parent's car. He pulled her into a tight hug and placed two golden rings in her hands. Together they formed his initials.
JD
He stared into her eyes and smiled lazily.
"We're going to the same state, darling."
Veronica nodded numbly.
"Yeah."
She was moving to California.
Thankfully, Jason was closer to Oregon and she was nestled far away, nearly in Nevada.
"Same state as Stanford." Her parents had laughed.
Sure. She has to start Senior year off as a new girl. Great.
Maybe life wouldn't be so hard. Maybe she'd make friends. A clean slate.
She put on her golden rings and placed her hand in the sun as her parents drove to the airport.
"Yeah...a clean slate."
"What's that Veronica?"
"Nothing."
Soooo...I decided there weren't enough Heathers fanfictions. I'm working on the next chapter for Secret, don't worry. Also, I got the base idea from a friend of mine XD
Thx OD! (Don't kill me, Yeah!)~T

Golden
FanfictionJD Those were the initials on the new girl's left ring finger. Proudly reflecting small amounts of golden light that seemed brighter than the sun, and just as deadly. I thought we needed more Heathers fanfics.
