ANALIA'S POV
BEEP... BEEP... BEEP... I threw the alarm across the room. That's the 3rd alarm I broke this week. I opened my phone to check the time, 8:13, Friday.
"OH CRAP! I need to get ready!" I said. "MOM WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP!" I shouted as I jumped up from the bed.
Well, I didn't get any response as usual. I went directly to the bathroom and took off my PJ's, got into the bathtub, and took a quick shower. Walking out of the bathroom with my towel, I picked my camping clothes with my necessities and put them in my backpack. Then, I picked out my outfit which consisted of a plain t-shirt with a fleece jacket and thermal leggings with my black Nike running shoes. I took my backpack over my shoulder and went outside for breakfast.
"Good morning mom and dad." I greeted as I sat on the chair. "Morning Analia." Mom and Dad said.
"I prepared your favorite," mom said, "blueberry pancakes." God, I love my mom.
"Awh thank you, mom you're the best," I said. I ate the pancakes in hurry.
BEEP... BEEP... BEEP!
"Sophia is here, gotta go. I'll see you on Sunday!" I said. "Okay have fun sweetie!" Mom exclaimed. "Take care Analia and don't forget to call me," Dad said."Okay mom and dad, bye!"
I opened the door and went outside."Hey Lia!" Sophia greeted waving her hand at me. "Hey Sophia, sorry I'm late," I said opening the car door and getting in.
"It's okay, let's just catch up with the boys."
"The boys went already, right?" I asked. "Yes, we're already late and I called Jason to meet us there," Sophia said.
"I'm so excited, it's been a long time since my last camping," I said. "Yes! We need you to take a lot of pictures because I heard the view there is breathtaking." Sophia said excitedly. "Yeah, I got my camera for that reason." I laughed.
I probably didn't get to introduce myself, I'm Analia or Lia for short. I'm 25 years old and I'm a photographer, I love nature and that's one of the main reasons I agreed to camp with my friends. Sophia and I are childhood best friends, we're practically partners in crime. Jason and Xavier are my other friends were camping with. I met them in high school when we were teamed up for a project, we just clicked together and became very close. I'm adventurous and I really like exploring. This camping was a chance for me to explore and take photographs.
"Hey Lia, did you hear about what happened in that forest we're going back then?"
"No, what happened?" I said curiously. "Well, there is this old story about a girl who was bullied and hated by a lot of people. She was very kind and innocent and always carried her camera around with her. People bullied her because she preferred being alone and was an orphan." She said.
"No one deserves that," I said.
"Exactly. So one day they planned to do something to her but something unexpected happened. They got her surrounded and kept beating her until her head accidentally slammed into a wood log. They said exactly at that moment, she wished them all to be gone and cursed them. She died in the end and they were shocked and didn't know what to do so they buried her body underground," Sophia said while driving. "They acted as if they didn't just kill someone and continued with their lives. One of the bullies found the girl's camera that was beside her and took it. One day the girl tried taking a picture of her friend, and right after she clicked the camera she saw a vision of her friend dying a horrible death. Right after that, she tried telling her friend what she saw and her friend didn't believe her, by everyone she was considered crazy. She got rid of the camera in some place, scared that she will see something else. Her family had her put in an insane asylum since they thought she went insane. In the end, she heard that her friend was killed by her own cousin and was thrown off a cliff. And the camera's place is unknown."
"Oh my god, this is horrible! I can't imagine how she felt!" I exclaimed. I can't imagine seeing my friend dying.
"You know what the best part though?" Sophia asked. "What?" I said.
"This is just a story I heard from someone about this forest. So its basically not real, I guess." Sophia said laughing. "Thank god it's not true! You got me there Soph." I said laughing loudly. Hopefully, this weekend is going to be the best and most unforgettable!
But little did I know what I'm getting myself into...
