Hannah ran into her bathroom and locked herself in. She opened the medicine cabinet and pulled out two bottles of aspirin. She sunk to a heap on the floor and put her head in her hands. Her boyfriend had broken up with her, her best friend despised her and her mother had overdosed a week ago. Her world had crumbled down all around her, all in less than a month.
My life isn't worth living, she thought to herself. She thought about her dog, Ben, and who would look after him when she was gone. Probably her dad, Christopher. He had left when Hannah was just eight, leaving Hannah and her mother to look after themselves. Hannah and her father still stayed in touch.
Hannah's mother had sank into depression after her father left. She blamed everything on Hannah, and she used to beat her every night. Hannah's best friend, Stacey, was the only person that was ever there for her. When Hannah's mother would collapse on the couch from drinking too much, Hannah would sneak over to Stacey's house to watch movies and eat popcorn. But now Stacey hated her.
Hannah started to sob quietly into her hands just thinking about it. Stacey's boyfriend, Robert, had come onto her at a party. Stacey saw them and blamed Hannah. Hannah had tried to explain what had really happened but Stacey didn't believe her.
Hannah's mother died shortly after. Hannah didn't even go to the funeral. Hardly anyone did, for that matter. Hannah despised her mother and blamed her for everything that had gone wrong in her life. She had dropped out of college and was living above an old fish and chip shop. That was how she had met her boyfriend , Michael.
Ex boyfriend, Hannah thought miserably.
He worked at the fish and chip shop and had seen Hannah every day. They had gotten talking and before Hannah knew it, they were dating. He had never really listened to Hannah, they're relationship was more physical. He cheated on her throughout their entire relationship. Hannah didn't care, she just wanted some one to notice her. Michael barely even did that.
She thought she loved him. And now he had dumped her. Suddenly, the phone rang in the kitchen. Hannah ignored it. The last thing she wanted to do was talk to anyone. Hannah opened the bottle of aspirin and shoved a handful into her mouth and swallowed. Another handful, and another and another.Hannah curled into a ball on the floor and sighed.
Then she stared at the empty aspirin bottle. Baby Aspirin, it read. Hannah screamed and threw the bottle at the wall. "I can't even fucking kill myself right!" she screeched. Her phone suddenly went to voicemail.
"Hi Hannah, umm, it's Stacey". Hannah sat up straight. "You're probably wondering why I'm calling you. Robert cheated on me with Jennifer. I really owe you an apology, and if you'll forgive me, I really want us to be friends again. So yeah, call me back". Hannah was in shock. Stacey hadn't spoken to her in weeks. Slowly, Hannah stood up, unlocked the door and called Stacey back.
