"Just wait and see."
...

Jungkook and Taehyung walked down the gloomy street in which the other calls home, to where a small grocery store sat a couple of blocks away.

Jungkook didn't need much so he bought as little as he could to save money.

Taehyung was very excited to go and to see the world alive again, but also he took this chance to go to try to gain more trust from Jungkook, who's still uneasy about the whole thing.

"Do you mind if I ask you a question?" Jungkook asked as they found their way in front of a crosswalk, waiting.

Taehyung shrugged effortlessly even though on the inside he was fanboying about Jungkook engaging in a normal conversation first. Well...a conversation.

"Where did you live before, all of this?"

The light changed to white and they continued their trip. "Well, I lived in Daegu, on a small strawberry farm with my grandmother and father, but I hung out a lot out of the countryside and in the more modern area with my friends."

Jungkook nodded and pushed up his wire-rimmed glasses. "I had the best life, the only downfalls were a missing mother in the family portrait and my grandmother passing away later on. But those wounds healed neatly because of my father, he really was the absolute best. He was like my guardian angel, always teaching me new things and new lessons on how to enjoy life with a happy mindset."

Jungkook nodded, a little envious of how Taehyung's father sounded like an amazing man, but he didn't mind listening about it. He's glad that the elder didn't have a shitty dad unlike himself. They were opposite.

"Do you miss him?"

Of course Jungkook knew the answer, but that went unnoticed.

Taehyung looked up at the dark morning sky, the grey clouds swirling into mixtures of white creating various shapes. The squalling wind blew through his fluffy hazel hair, turning his nose and cheeks pink. He let out a breath, a fog appearing in front of him.

"Yeah, I do."

Jungkook felt really bad and wished Taehyung was given a different chance at life, but time couldn't turn back.

Then something hit Taehyung as they reached the grocery store. "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry Jungkook. I forgot about your dad, I didn't mean to sound like I was bragging-"

"Oh no, it's okay! I don't mind, I enjoyed listening. My father doesn't affect me."

Taehyung only nodded awkwardly and quickly moved in front of Jungkook to hold the door. The younger felt his heart flutter at the sweet act. "Um, thank you...hyung?"
