Chapter 1

"Nikki!! Hey guys look it's Nikki" a fimilar voice said behind me.

I turn around to see my ex-boyfriend/ex-bestfriend surrounded by all these girls who were fussing over him. Well I could walk away from all of those bitches or I could talk to them. I think I'll  walk away.

"Hey, where are you going?" he sounded weird. his speech was slurred and he was walking funny.

"ohh. He's drunk," I thought stupidly.

That's why all of his girlfriends were fussing over him. He's getting closer and I looked around and realized I had no where to go. I was going to get a ride home with my friend but a lot of things had happened tonight and now I'm in the mall's parking lot with these people. I just want to go home.

"Stop going over there! We need to get you home, and she can't help us! "One of his girlfriends hissed.

The reason why I say "girlfriends" is because I actually don't know which one is his girlfriend. If you didn't know him you would think they all were by the way they look at him and the way he flirts with all of them.

"No. Nikki is the only one who can help me. Get off me! " He yelled while unwrapping there arms off him.

They glared at me and let go. I don't know what he is talking about. We haven't even talked in months and our last conversation didn't go to well. I can't help him, I mean he's drunk for gods sake.

Wait. he's drunk. Caleb is no way a drinker. Dammit something must be really wrong if he's drinking like that. I could still walk away but...

"Nikki I wanna talk to you. " he said

"Why? We haven't talked in forever, and your drunk just go home. " I stated firmly. You don't know how hard that was. I want to talk to him so bad and it's been really hard staying away from him, but I need to. I can't let him back in again. It's almost like he doesn't know how much he hurt me.

"Can you guys just leave me alone! I'm fine here with Nikki" He said to his girlfriends.

"Jessica and I have to go.. it's getting late and my mom's here" said one of the girls who looked nervously at everyone.

"Fine. All of you just go, I can handle my boyfriend alone. " said his girlfriend obviously.

Wow. She was gorgeous. She has long curly blonde hair. She was tall and skinny. No wonder he liked her.

All of the other girls left so it was just Caleb, me and his girlfriend.

"Alright lets go Caleb I'll take you home. Or we could go to my house. " Geez he's drunk and she still wants to do it with him.

"No, I'll go home later with Nikki, you can leave now." he slurred. I guess I have no say in this?

"But babe.. I dont trust her!  She's a freak and what if she does something to you. "

"I'm still here ya know." I waved my hand in front of her face

"Ew don't touch me-"

"Can you just shut up Vanessa! All you do is bully people. You're so freaking annoying and I hate hanging out with you and your stupid friends. Nikki never did anything to you can you just leave her the fuck alone?" he yelled.

Wait.. did he just stick up for me? What the hell is going on.

She stood there with her mouth wide open and didn't answer for about a minute.

"Caleb. I'm not going to be mad at you because you are drunk and I know you didn't mean it. Lets go home" She said pulling his hand for him to get up.

He yanked his hand out of hers and said "Are you deaf? Vanessa I'm done with you okay. WE. ARE. OVER. " He paused after each word trying to get her to understand.

"But.. but" tears were swelling in her eyes. "You are such a jerk! I am done with you. " She let go and started walking away.

"Finally " he muttered.

We walked over to an empty bench and I sat there awkwardly. What had just happened? He broke up with his girlfriend and for what reason, me?

"Nikki, I know I'm drunk right now but I mean this. I really miss you. What happened to us? We were so close. "

Tears were now swelling in my eyes. I want to scream,cry,laugh, and then cry some more. He always makes me feel this way.

Don't cry you idiot, not in front of him.

"Let's just go okay. " I said.

"Where?" he asked

hm. I dont know. I can't go home cause I'm supposed to be at a sleepover, and I can't bring home a boy. Maybe we could go to his house?

"Your place? We can't really go to mine.. " I said. I really don't want to go anywhere with him but what choice did I have? He said okay and we started walking.
