You don't get life a second time

Chapter 1

At the engagement party everyone was dancing and enjoying and wishing the future couple congratulations. It was a night of happiness for both Callum and Irene. They were dancing and looking into each other's eye while smiling. After the dancing they all went to have dinner where their whole family was sited. Irene's father stood up to do a toast.

"it seems like only yesterday that Irene came into this world... and today she's getting engaged." Chuckles to himself and looks at his daughter. "Callum, I'm not losing a daughter but I'm gaining a son" laughs along with everyone and pats Callum on the shoulder.

"Mr. Monroe" now it was Callum's dad who stood up to do a toast to his loving son and future daughter-in-law "Two years ago, you commissioned me to build your hotel. Who would've imagined that one day we'll be a big family." Looks at everyone and says grinning "On behalf of my family, I welcome you all." Everyone claps as he sits down and they all started talking when suddenly a strikingly gorgeous girl started to get up while clearing her throat. Everyone stopped doing immediately what they were doing and looked at her.

She had long dark brown hair that fell down her back like flowing waterfall. She have big brown eyes that swirled with mischief and innocence. Her angel like face glowed under the bright new moon. Her hour glass figure was wrapped in a light pink gown. She had a big smile on her face while she stood up and faced everyone.

"Why should I sit down when everyone is giving toasts. I mean I am the grooms best friend and I should give one too you know" she said as everyone chucked along with her "Anyway, hello everyone. My name is Veronica Knight. Me and Callum were best friend's since school but I'm not his only friend, he had lots of friends but there were main four of us." Suddenly Callum's father shouted from across the table "the four devils" and everyone started laughing along with him.

"that's right, it was the name uncle had given the four of us but today we are only two here which will be me and Callum. Unfortunately, our third and fourth devil Eleanor and Nicholas is not with us anymore." Everybody gasped and some started saying sorry for their friends "Don't worry they are alive, they're just isn't right here now." Everybody started laughing "Anyway, Irene... Callum is one of the nicest guy ever. So, If you ever smash his Porsche, don't worry." Sees Callum looking at her playfully with an evil glare and she smirked "He's also very intelligent, so leave the kid's homework to him." Hears everybody laughing again while Callum says smiling sarcastically "you're a true friend Veronica, thanks" she laughs and says "Your welcome love" and turns to everybody again to "He's very large hearted so, don't think twice... just buy as many diamonds as you can and buy some for me as well." everybody started clapping while Irene said thank you to her and Callum showed her a gun with his fingers pretending to shoot her. Veronica just laughed and continued "Basically Irene, Callum is a solid guy. So, you just grab his hand and start walking toward your future because no matter what, he will never let you down" everyone started to make sounds like "aww" and "how sweet"

Callum kissed his fiancé's cheek and turned to Veronica and said "thank you" while smiling.

"you can send the cheque now for the speech " says while sipping at her Champagne and everybody laughs.

After the dinner the girls went to the washroom to re-do their make-ups when suddenly Irene's sister Madeline started talking.

"by the way, let me warn you... but my husband is planning a full power bachelor party for Callum."

Out of nowhere Irene's friend came in and started talking "too late. His school friends have planned a bachelor holiday. A road trip and guess where" see's her friend's sister shaking her head "through Spain"

"a road trip?" she asked while she started smoothing out Irene's dress

"don't ask babe. They had made some pact in college that each one would choose an adventure sport." Irene said  while rolling her eyes

"are you serious? Like Fear Factor?" she heard her sister said and she chuckled while turning around "Exactly and the other two would have to do it"

"So what have you picked?" one of Callum's cousin, Teddy asked him while sipping his unfinished Champagne.

Callum though for a second and said "that I can't say" he looks at him while he looks at Callum weiredly "why?"

"Well" they all turned around to see Veronica walking towards them gracefully like she was walking on a cloud. She came and stood next to Callum while talking the glass of Champagne he offered "Basically, not in front of me, at least" sees his cousin and the person next to him looking at her with a confused face and she smiled while explaining "You see, the sport we pick is the surprise for the other three. Seriously"

The man next to Callum's cousin said shockingly "are you kidding me?!"

Callum shook his head while saying "No because that ensures none of us will withdraw. Anyway, whose idea was this?" eyes the girl next to him that was standing holding on his arms.

"Mine." Veronica mumbled while smirking.

Irene and her friend's were sitting on a table discussing about the whole bachelor holiday when Taylor, Irene's friend said to her while looking at her seriously "Three weeks, you know how these boys are" Irene immediately started defending her fiancé "not Callum. He's not like that"

Taylor sighed and looks at her friend more seriously "oh please! All guys go crazy at bachelor parties. In fact, Teddy still hasn't told me what happened at his bachelor party. I don't know"

"I heard something about your bachelor party" Veronica said while looking at Teddy who was frozen the minute she popped the question.

Teddy looked at his friend who did a sign of zipping his mouth and turned to Veronica and Callum, who was standing behind her "how did you know?"

"so it is true" she sighs and looks at him when he said "does Taylor know?"  

She shakes her head while sipping at her Champagne "no hun, why would I tell her?"

"please don't tell her about this.... she was a Brazilian model. Bloody hot! And I was sloshed." Sees them laughing and quickly said "if Taylor finds out about this, she'll kill me! Please"

"I know don't worry, your secret is safe with us"

"it was my last night as a bachelor. You know I would never do it otherwise." He said pleading to them hoping they would somehow keep this secret from his wife.

"we understand don't worry about it man. It happens" Callum said shaking his hand and looked back shocked "Taylor!" everyone looked back expecting to see a angry Taylor but saw nothing and Callum started laughing "sorry man, I couldn't resist" says their goodbye and they started walking towards the garden when Veronica busted out laughing "Trust me, this trick never fails"

Callum looks at her weirdly and asked "what do you mean?"

She stopped laughing and looks at him while taking deep breaths "Well, you tell people you know something about them and before you know it, they tell you their secrets"

Callum gasps while looking at his best friend "Shut up! You didn't know about that Brazilian model?"

Veronica shakes her head while shrugging her shoulder "no, he just told me"

He gasps and started laughing with her while putting his arms around his best friend, who he knew he can always count on "mind blowing!"
