A/N: made this a while ago I'm just making this book better and more lengthy

Pitter. Patter. Pitter. Patter. Pitter. One, two, three four, five, repeat, for a full minute I counted my heart beats, the bus was bumbling with the chats of the regular students, my skin was cold to the touch. Goose bumps lined my arms, the hairs on my neck poked up. My breaths were slow and shallow, creating a fog against the window with each exhale. The grass was dewy, the fog was low and wispy. The sky began it's colorful hello, the moon saying it's goodbyes, the sun tenderly kissed the start of the horizon. I moved my gaze from the beautiful nature, to the girl who'd just gotten onto the bus. My only friend.

"Ah. There she is." I mumbled to myself. I sat up straighter, moving my arm out to stretch the muscles. I smiled sheepishly as she waved and walked smoothy, swiftly passing down the dirty bus aisle as her long, curly, ginger hair trailed, bouncing behind her every movement. My only friend Belle.

"Hiya Tee." She spoke, her voice silky, it flowed like a waterfall," How was your summer?" Her words rolled off her tongue with ease. She had a soft southern accent. She pulled her turquoise bookbag off her shoulder and sat down, the bag in her lap. I pushed my dark hair back. She was out of the country all summer.

"Ah, the usual." Or so what Belle thought to be my usual.

"So reading? You read all summer??" She looked at me like I was some abnormal creature.

"Uh, yeah?" I asked more questioningly than I meant. I smiled awkwardly. I hadn't really realized the bus was moving till we fast paced over a speed bump, sending everyone up slightly out of their seats. The school was just up ahead, the road was narrow. Belle began her mindless banter of her time out of the United states. Our school was a rather large district, the people seemed like ants swarming into their nest, in this case students swarming miserably into yet another 9 months of school. Here we go.

After a while the loud and obnoxious students slowly stifled down. The High-school was just up ahead from us. Belle didn't even realize this entire time I was tuned out as she talked about her time in Europe, I couldn't care less, really. I looked over in the window, cars swarmed the parking lot. I cursed myself for not having my driver's license. I eased my thoughts down as the bus got closer to school. "FHS" Were above in bold, after spelled out Farmington High School.  It was big, students were scattered everywhere. Some wore the school jersey. Lots of Athletes here. Finally the bus stopped and everyone rushed to be off first, including Belle. I just sat there and waited while the others hustled. I smiled at the bus driver as I got up and left silently. I looked around. No one spared me a glance, no one really looked at me. I fit in with what people had assumed was 'my normal' I smiled wide and waved at those would even look at me, gleefully. I was the class clown no one got to know.
I was put into a halting stop when someone ran into me, knocking me down.
"Damn.." I muttered rubbing my elbow. I looked up. My heart skipped a beat. A man, Black hair, green eyes. Tall, new. His eyes widened and he held a hand out for me. I flinched by mistake and took it, and swiftly he pulled me up.

"You okay? I'm sorry- I'm new here and I was.. trying to find my way around.." he laughed sheepishly," Oh! I'm Markson.. Markson Thomson." He smiled.

"Yeah-! I'm okay." I smiled and shook my head waving it off."  I'm Carter Taylor. Also known as Cat- my initials." I smiled and held out my hand, he took it gratefully and shook it. " So.. you need help around?" I offered nicely, honestly hoping he'd recline.

"Actually yeah I do.." he let go of my hand. Belle decided to pipe in," well Hello Handsome, my Name's Belle and I'll be your guide." She smiled and winked at him. She grabbed his hand and looked at me, And smiled, winking. I was slightly confused and waved anyways.

"Bye-!" He quickly got out.

Of course Belle got him. Of course. Eye-Candy? She goes for it. Belle a friend? Maybe. I took her as that at least since she's the only one who really talks to me. I shook my head a sighed. I walked in quickly to my first hour in hopes of not being noticed. I'd crack a few jokes here and there upon being in my class and they'd burst into laughter. I use humor to cope with things. Seems I'm pretty good at it.

Markson popped into my head. Wonder if I'll ever see him again. Maybe.  The lecture began about the holocaust. First hour was history, almost every year and touch the topic of the holocaust. I was un-ironically interested in it. My phone buzzed softly.

B- Isn't Mark just a cutie?
C- I mean yea. But he probs likes you.
B- I sure hope. I like him :)
C- Typical, B.
B- ah hush it 😂

I left it at that. Thus my senior year of terror began, for one more year.

A/n: aahhh been so long since I've wrote, I really hope y'all enjoyyyy
