Chapter 1
A New Life
Maxon's POV
Staring out the window of our room as she often does is my wife. How funny it feels to say that. America, MY wife, MY choice, MY love, MY hope, MY best friend. She tells me that she thinks of her father while staring out the window. I often think of my mother and father staring at me when I look at the frame of the door. I see them in the dining room and the ball room and when walking down the corridors.
We have been King and Queen for 3 1/2 years now and caste 7 and 8 have been promoted to 6. America is anxious to see the world, but I have a felling we should wait. I am about to enter the doctors office for a monthly check up when I hear screaming from the check up room and America runs out almost crying.
America's POV
When I'm with Maxon I am happy. I don't understand. It's a happy I've never felt before. I never felt this way with Aspen, May, or my father. I need him more than I need air or food. I thought I would never say this, but we rule a kingdom together and yet we still love each other.
We have been King and Queen for 3 1/2 years now and cast 7 and 8 have been promoted to 6. I want to see the world, but Maxon insists we settle down and raise a family before we do much traveling. He has odd feelings about life, but I respect that. I'm heading to my monthly check up and I think about how before the selection a doctor was something we couldn't afford. The doctors insist that I stay a little while as they always do to see if a little prince or princess may be on the way. It's just a waste of time. I go in as I always do and they do their check. My doctor leaves and I hear giggling of joy behind the door and I wonder. Lucy probably cracked a joke. The doctor comes In the room and says "Your Majesty, you have a child on the way," I screamed, and ran, and forgot where I was going. I was happy and confused and excited at the same time, but how do I tell Maxon?
