"Hold on, if you've been dead for 2000 years, you have no idea about the doppelgängers do you?" Bonnie asked me.
I shook my head, and was about to ask her when someone burst through the door. Amara? She looked exactly like her. Actually my sister was prettier. Oops.

"Oh my god." She said.
"Oh my god." I said, so this is what Bonnie meant by doppelgänger. Ah.
"Anastasia this is Elena." Bennett told me as she put her hand on my shoulder.
I turned to her with disbelief written all over my face.

"You're shitting me right?" I said staring back at the face of my twin.
"Elena is Amara's doppelgänger." She explained.
"Um, Bonnie? Wanna tell me who the hell is this?" Elena asked.

"This is-"
"Anastasia Petrova." I interrupted her, and extended my arm for her to shake.
"Petrova, as in Katherine?" She said, leaving me hanging, so I took my hand back.

"Ugh no. Petrova as in Amara." I said, expecting some sort of understanding but she was still clueless. I rolled my eyes.

"You know, love of Silas' life? Murdered in cold blood? Apparently the originator of the doppelgänger?" I asked trying to ring a bell.
"Wait so.. does that mean you knew Silas?" She asked.

"Knew him, currently loathe him." I replied.
"Let me get this straight, you're not a doppelgänger?" She asked, curious as to why we look alike.

"Afraid not. Im the hot twin sister. I'm just curious as to why the whole doppelgänger situation even started. Why my sister?" I questioned them.
They both shrugged.

"Elena we have Katherine let's goooooo- woah. Who the hell is this?" A man with bright blue eyes and dark hair said as he entered the room.

I walked up to him and stuck out my hand for him to shake.
"Anastasia Petrova. Shake my hand or I will be very pissed off." I just didn't want to be rejected for the 3rd time today.
"Damon Salvatore." He actually shook it, and looked me up and down.

"Another one? Seriously? How many are there?" He asked Elena and Bonnie.
"Oh I'm not a doppelgänger." I butted in, as he turned to look at me again.
"No, I'm the twin of the originator of the doppelgänger line. God that's a mouthful."

"Okay um. Stay here, and we can sort this situation out when we get back." He said, and pulled Elena to the front door.
"Wait no. We should take her with us, she knew Silas, so she might know a lot of other stuff too." My doppelgänger said. Alright I'm very old but I'm not a freaking encyclopaedia.

"You knew Silas?" He asked. Boy did I know him.
"Unfortunately." I replied.

"Would you mind coming with us? We may need your help. My brothers gone rogue and he's a little unfriendly when he's hungry."
He asked, leaning up against a wall. Damn he was hot, in a dark mysterious type of- focus Anastasia!

"I'll help. But I need something in return."
I crossed my arms to try and look firm.
"Okay. What is it?" He asked. In all fairness, I probably wasn't even going to get what I wanted anyway.

"Any idea where Silas' tombstone is? It's a big hunk of rock, about ye big." I said gesturing the size with my hands.
"Kinda old looking, harbouring all of my magic. Seen it lying around anywhere?" I asked.

"Wait, I thought that was Qetsi-whatever's magic. At least that's what I heard." Bennett spoke up. My blood boiled at the mention of her name.

"Nope. It's mine and I want it back." I looked at Damon and Elena expectedly.
They exchanged looks, and Damon nodded.

"We'll get you the tombstone. Come on." He said as he opened the door. Hmm, easier than I thought.

"Wait. Is your brother the guy that Silas impersonated all summer?" I asked, finally realising what this meant. He nodded.

"Please don't tell me he's Silas' doppelgänger..." I could barely handle a cheap version of my sister (no offence Elena), let alone a remake of Silas. I hated his face enormously as it was, now there's two?!

"Okay then. I won't." Damon replied, and got in the weird box thing. I think it was car.
As I slid in, I froze. I saw anoTHER DOPPLEGANGER.
I rolled my eyes and shut the door.

"Let me guess. Katerina Petrova." I asked as we started the car.
"The one and only. Although now I go by Katherine Pierce."
"Uh-huh, whatever." I fake smiled.
"So who the hell are you?"
She asked in her original Katherine-y voice. Bleugh.

"Anastasia Petrova. Distant relative." I said, not offering her my hand to shake because she doesn't deserve it.
"You're not a doppelgänger because you're actually hotter than all of us. So care to explain why you look like one?" She asked.

——————————

After explaining my whole life story, they were pretty shocked. Katherine looked impressed, Elena looked like she felt sorry for me, and Damon was- oh. He was checking me out. Ew.

"Well that's even more interesting than my life story. So you said you had powers. Where's all your witchy juju now?" Katherine asked.

"The tombstone." Elena finally spoke.

Suddenly Damon pulled over and got out. He went into this building, and came out as soon as he went in, carrying my precious tombstone. Well, not mine, but you know what I mean.

He opens the car door, and gives it to me.

"Hm, well that was easier than I thought." I expected there to be more to it. It's literally just a big rock. Guess not.

——

We soon started driving again, and I was trying to figure how to suck my magic out of this thing. I guess I'll need a few candles and I should be good.

"Here!" Katherine shouted.
"What? What's here?" I'm still in the dark about where we're going.
"This is the bar Katherine and I saw on our dream." Elena replied as we all got out.

"Oh. Must be some sort of doppelgänger glitch. Interesting." I said as we walked in to it.
While Damon and Elena were talking to this bar man, I decided to grab a free drink. Being dead for 2000 years makes you thirsty. Sue me.

"Which one of you is Katherine Pierce?" I heard a voice behind me say. Elena and I immediately point to Katherine, and she just rolls her eyes.

The woman walks over to Katherine and tries to grab her.
"Um excuse me? What the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked as I walked up to her, drink in hand.

"You're Anastasia Petrova right? I've heard of you." Oh geez, finally someone knows who I am.

"That would be me. Yes." I simply replied.
"I also know that you're powers are dormant at the moment right? So I'm pretty much stronger than you." Ah crap.

I stepped back and let the woman speed away with Katherine, and turned around to a very pissed off Damon and Elena.
"Why the hell did you do that? She was our leverage against Silas!" Damon said through gritted teeth.

"Okay firstly, I don't have any powers at the moment. It's not easy to suck magic out of a rock in the back of your car. Secondly, screw the leverage against Silas. You got me, that's better than anything you could possibly have." I said.

"You're wrong, Katherine had the cure in her. Now you've gone and messed that up." Elena said trying to be a smartass. I just rolled my eyes for the billionth time today.

"No shit Elena. But when I get my powers back, I can locate the cure before you can say doppelgänger."
