"Ahhh, Valentina, you actually came this year. The dress looks gorgeous on you." Mr. Guterburn said.It was the first time in four years I went to Mr. Guterburn's party.
"Thank you, sir," I noticed a tall, handsome boy standing behind him.
The boy took a notice and graciously smiled, "Hey."
"Hey?" I said back. His face, it was familiar.
He chuckled to himself. "Valentina, Remeber me? Cairo." He took the back of my hands and kissed it. I felt my cheeks grow red in heat.
I remember him. I don't remember the last time I saw him, but he had gotten handsome. "It's nice to see you again"
"Want me to show you around?" He asked.
I nodded my head and followed him as he leads me around. "As you can tell, there's not much here."
"So what can I do here?" I asked.
His eyes lit up. "I'm glad you asked, what we can do is get out."
I stood there confused. " Wouldn't someone notice and get upset? I don't want to get in trouble."
"Don't worry Tina, no one will notice, I promise you."
We sneak out the back door. There was a vintage car waiting outside. Cairo got on the driver's seat and I followed into passenger's.
"There's a special place about ten minutes away from here, wanna go?"
"How do I know I should trust you?" I asked though I knew I would still go with him regardless.
"You don't, trust is something proven, not said."
It was an amusement park, an empty one closed down for the night. "It's locked, genius," I said, sarcastically as I pointed to the metal lock on the gates.
"Or is it?" He leads me to the side, where there was an opened door. "I know this place inside out, the workers never close this door."
We entered inside. It was hard to see through the darkness of the night, but I could see the silhouette of every shop.
"Come here," Cairo says, taking my hand into his, and taking me to a merry-go-round. He pressed some buttons in the front of the merry go round, and all the lights for that ride turned on.
Dad never lets me go to the amusement park so I was very excited. "Thank you so much, Cairo!" I smiled.
He stood looking at my face for a moment. "You look gorgeous, you know." He moved the strand of hair in front of my face and pulled it behind my ear. I stared back at him, feeling a knot in my heart.
And then it happened. A kiss. I pulled back and saw Cairo blushing, probably as hard as me. It was enough to get me giggling.
"Why'd you kiss me? " I asked, teasingly.
"Did you mind it?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No, I liked it. To be honest, I've always had a crush on you."
"Good." He answered. "We still have a long night ahead of us."
