"Gryffindor!" The old hat yelled. Coralie's eyes widened but unlike Sirius, her smile did too. She hopped off of the stool and walked towards the loud table with screams and whistles echoing from it.

As she walked past the other first years waiting to be sorted she smiled at her new friends, but when she walked past Severus she whispered," Good luck." She took a seat between Sirius and Molly underneath one of the large red banners.

Sirius smiled at her and threw his arm around her shoulders as they watched the rest of the sorting. All of the other boys were sorted into Gryffindor as well with the exception of Severus, who was sorted into Slytherin, and the addition of Lily, Fabian, and Gideon.

When all of the students were dismissed from the hall the Gryffindor prefects, Molly and Arthur, lead the first year Gryffindors to the common room.

"Wow!" An audible gasp was heard as the new students looked around the room in awe.

"The girls' dormitory is on the left and the boys' on the right," Molly pointed at the staircases that lead up to the dormitories.

"I'm going head up to bed guys, goodnight," Coralie yawned as she made her way over to the left set of steps.

"Goodnight," the boys chorused as they made their way to the right set of steps.

She walked up the stairs to the first years' dormitories and looked for her name on a door. When she found it she walked in and the first thing she saw was Lily hanging up a poster of muggle icon, Marilyn Monroe.

"Hi I'm- oh it's you," Lily's facial expression changed from a smile to a scowl as she realized who her last roommate was.

There was a blonde girl painting her nails sitting on the bed across from Lily's and a brown haired girl watering a plant on her bedside table by the bed to the right of Lily's. Then there was a girl with light strawberry blonde hair blasting music from a charmed muggle stereo as she painted on an easel she had set up beside her bed across from the brown-haired girl.

After Lily had made her presence know all of the other girls looked over at her. The girl blasting the music turned it down.

"Lily, who's this?" the girl painting her nails said raising an eyebrow.

"Um, I'm Coralie, and Lily I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry. I just got so mad when James took your side over mine, even though I was the one sticking up for him," she apologized to Lily hoping they could start over and be friends, but Lily wasn't having it.

"I'm sorry that I hurt your little boyfriend's feelings, but if you're going to get that jealous then tell him to leave me alone," she replied glaring at Coralie but then resuming putting up her posters. The tension hanging in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

The blonde just rolled her eyes and went back to painting her nails and the painting girl gave a sympathetic smile but didn't say anything as she turned her music back up. Coralie made her way to the last bed in the dorm. It had all of her belongings next to it and Artemis was already asleep on it.

"Hey I'm Alice," the brown haired girl said coming over to Coralie's bed.

"That's Mary," she pointed at the strawberry blonde girl," that's Marlene," she pointed at the blonde girl," and it seems you've already met Lily," she pointed at Lily.

"I'm Coralie. It's nice to meet you," she greeted back.

"Yeah, I know. When Lily walked in she was ranting about a 'dark-haired she-devil that was house prejudice', but that's obviously not true. I mean you said it yourself that you were only sticking up for your friend which is a good thing," she said taking a seat on her bed.

"Yeah well maybe she should look in the mirror before she starts talking about other people," Coralie mumbled as she opened her wardrobe.

"That's not very nice!" Alice put her hands on her hips and looked at her.

"I'm sorry, I'm just really mad at her. I mean at least I had the decency to apologize and I didn't just act like she didn't exist, like she 's doing to me might I add," she said pausing from organizing her clothes to glare at Lily over her shoulder who was gossiping with Marlene.

"I understand where you're coming from, but if you're going to be the better person you need to follow through with it," Alice continued.

"Yeah, well you know what they say," Coralie smirked as she looked at Lily.

"What's that?" Alice asked.

"Kill them with kindness," her expression became devious before she returned to organizing her wardrobe.

Before Alice could reply she grabbed her pajamas and headed to the bathroom and spoke over her shoulder," I'm heading to bed now, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." She put on her blue tank top and some black shorts.

"Hey, brat! Are done in there? You're taking forever, did you decide to chop off the rats nest on your head? Because if you did I won't blame you!" Lily cackled through the door banging on it as she yelled.

"I'm almost done!" Coralie quickly ripped the brush through her tangled mop of hair. "It's all yours," she opened the bathroom door and gave a warm smile to Lily.

"I don't know what you're up to, but it's not going to work because, you want to know why? I'm way smarter than you, freak," Lily snarled in her face.

"Good night to you too, Lily," she ignored her and continued to her bed as Lily stormed past her careful to make sure she shoved her shoulder into Coralie's as she slammed the bathroom door.
