"Hey, how about another day off tomorrow? It's my last day here." Tom asked me taking his eyes off the movie.
"I was hoping to see everyone before you guys leave but, what do you have in mind?" I looked back at him.
"Well, I want to go surfing and Harrison rented a boat, so how about the three of us go surfing and then we tell everybody to meet us at the shore." My eyes went wide and a smiled popped in my face.
"That sounds nice."
"Tell me something I don't know about you." I paused the movie and crossed my legs. I looked at him and stared at him for a few seconds. What could he possibly want to know about me? My life isn't as interesting as his or as fun, he wouldn't be interested in anything I tell him.
"Well, I'm a medical student," he laughed because he already knew that. "I'm Latina, I'm 5'2, besides Emma I have a younger brother named Jesus."
"That's amazing." He sat down. "Tell me something in Spanish." He smiled like a little kid would when he would get candy.
"Like what?"
"Anything." I looked away trying to think of something.
"Eres lo mejor que me pasó en este viaje y no quiero perderte." I looked him in the eyes and smiled, appreciating every second with him.
"What does that mean?" He asked excited.
"You have tomato sauce in your shirt." I laughed trying to hide the fact that i was lying, I didn't want to ruin a nice moment because I decided to say he is the best thing that happened to me in this trip and I don't want to lose him.
"I'm gonna miss you, Tris."My smile vanished. "I never expectedthis." He stood up.
"I'm going to miss you too, but what are you saying? Expected what?" I tried to come closer but he backed away. He ran his hand through his head struggling with his words.
"I don't want to lose you, you know? Our friendship is really cool, it's not like with Harrison, you know? It's completely different." I grabbed his hand and led him to the bed.
"I know it's hard to have a long distance friendship, but we can work it out; face time exists, though and we will try to make the time to come see each other." I smiled and he ran his hand through his hair again. "You just have to promise you won't forget about me." I giggled.
"Of course I won't, it's not that easy to forget a girl like you."
