"Why haven't you marked her yet? You're mates, right?", Isabel asked over dinner with Francis and Amanda.

"Uh, we want to wait until the Blue Moon when we're at our strongest", Francis explained as rehearsed.

"What pack do you come from, Amanda?",

"Blood Moon Pack",

"I thought that was gone?", Isabel wondered.

"It is, darling, it recently united with the Adonis Pack", Perseus explained.

Isabel nodded and turned back to her plate. That was close. Of course Perseus knew Isabel wasn't stupid, she found it strange that Amanda turned out to be Francis' mate.

Perseus' hearing was always excellent so he immediately picked up their laughter even though they were far away from him. Out of his window he had perfect view on the gorgeous garden, yet there was one more gorgeous thing.

Amanda.

Her black hair turned dark brown due the son and she was beaming. His heart went faster and he sighed, taking in her beauty.

She was playing with a small kitten and next to her sat Francis, who was smiling at the sight. They both bowed over the little kitten and caressed it. Jealousy filled Perseus' body, he wanted to be there with Amanda.

He wasn't even aloud to look at her, touch her, speak to her or even treasure her. She was Francis' to the world, but exactly she was his. Hiding that fact hurt him even more than not being able to show her his affection.

A knock on his door made him bolt back to his chair and pick up his work. Soon a royal guard stepped in followed by hismate.

"Lady Isabel, your majesty", he bowed and left them alone.

Her long brown hair was put up today, exposing her long neck, where his mark bared. She came to sit on his lap and he pulled her close as an instinct.

"It's almost your birthday", she started.

"I know, love",

"Can I plan it?",

His mouth fell open, he didn't know how to react. Since she isn't Queen yet, she's not authorized to do so. But how is he supposed to tell her that?

"It's a task that belongs to David and lady Margaretha",

"Well, I'm sure they won't mind",

"They've been planning my birthday with my mother since the day I was born",

She huffed in protest and Perseus sighed while she climbed off his lap. This time he didn't pull her back like he used to, which shocked her.

"Babe, come on! I am your mate, I'm supposed to do so, all my friends laugh at me for it", she whined.

"Then they aren't true friends",

"Perseus!",

"Love, I-",

"This is so ridiculous, why can't I-",

"Isabel", he snapped angry.

She froze and stared at him. Perseus raised himself, he was full of stress and her whining just pulled the trigger.

"For as long as your not queen, you shall not take my word in doubt. If I wish for lady Margaretha and David to plan my birthday party, they shall do so. Have I made myself clear?",

"Yes", she muttered clearly upset.

"Lady Amanda, your majesty", the Royal Guard walked in.

Amanda trailed behind him, she froze when she saw the engaged couple. Embarrassed she stared down at the floor.

"What are you doing here?!", Isabel snapped harshly.

"Isabel", Perseus warned her.

"Why are you defending her?", Isabel demanded.

"Because she did nothing wrong and you know that",

Before they could continue to argue, Amanda cut them off. She really wanted to get away.

"Francis told me I had to get permission to leave the palace from the King",

"You want to leave the palace?", Perseus tried to hide his anger, but even Isabel noticed it.

"Y-yes", she stuttered.

"Reason", he demanded sitting down.

"T-theatre, your majesty",

"What does Francis think of this matter?",

"He doesn't mind, although he does insist on a guard to come along while he's off training soldiers on boot camp", she explained.

Perseus feel quiet and let ideas run through his mind. He didn't want her to leave, she was save in his court. Things could happen to her out of his reach.

"Just let the girl go", Isabel encouraged him.

"Fine, I'll sent a guard along as Francis wished",

Amanda bowed and walked out. Before Isabel could protest again about his birthday party, he raised his hand, dismissing her. She groaned in frustration and hurried out.

He was all alone and for once he was happy to be.
