Unexpected beauty

I'm strolling to the usual coffee spot. And by myself.. as usual. I still need to pick up the news for mum on the way back too. Whilst trying to avoid scary Susan.I wonder if Todd will ever get sick of me ordering the same....
"Coffee no creamer because it makes you sick and a muffin?" Todd says as soon as I reach his counter.
I sigh and force a smile "yes please" I laugh handing him the fiver and wandering to a nearby table.
"How's life 'son" he asks. Well let me think about that. My brother died in a car accident a few months back my own mum can't leave her room and I'm practically her carer because she can't be bothered to get of her ass. My dads now gone to Afghanistan with the army for 3 months and my best and only friend  Ben is on holiday. So this is going to be the best fucking summer ever spent by myself.
"Yeah same old" I reply blatantly lying.
Todd brings over my drink and muffin
"One day.. life will get better Micheal I can promise you that" he smiles wearily.
Limping back to the counter after giving me a gentle pat on the back.

Finishing up I walk out the shop and glance at my reflection in the glass making sure I don't have muffin crumbs on my lips and sorting out my wavy brown hair. Right. Time to walk into the market without getting spotted by Susan.
Susan is the towns biggest bully and unfortunately she is also the daughter of the the news stand lady. Sounds pathetic but I've litterally seen her break necks. I'm ducking behind a nearby bin waiting for her to leave the stand when I get knocked over.

"Hey!" I turn around from the dirty floor. And look up expecting a old hobo to be wanting me to move. But I glance up at a gorgeous girl about my age with hazel eyes and flowing golden hair to her waist.
She laughs and helps me up
"What you hiding from" She says confused.
I glance over at Susan and back. There was no way in hell im admitting I'm hiding from a girl in front of her she'll think I'm a pussy.
"God a girl?" She laughs "what's the worst that she could do? Kill you" She laughs.

I push my hair over my eye because I know my face is going very red right now.
"What no." I say sternly.
"I was simply... looking for something"
Again I'm laughed at.
"What ya looking for then" she says.
I panik and admit it
"Fine I was hiding from a girl okay."

She laughs and drags me over to the newsstand (Which scary susan is still at. May I just point out)
"Can we have one newspaper please?" The girl asks Susan's mum. Everything's going great now this mysterious girl has turned up. Until Susan barges past me. The fat oaf knocked me off my feet onto the floor. "Oh my. I'm so sorry Micheal. I slipped" She says sniggering and walking of with a smirk.

I get up "Hey pay for your newspaper hold on"
The mysterious girl says and runs back to susan.
Confused I pay and turn around and glance at the girl.
She taps Susan on the back and when she turns around she slaps Susan round the face!
"Oops my hand slipped sorry" she smiles and walks back to me. Leaving Susan red face and shocked.

"Quick let's go" She laughs as we run down the closest ally way.
