millie felt her pocket buzz as she was getting in the car on the way to school. she was shocked to see finns username pop up on her phone. 2 days in a row he had texted her, which she didn't see coming. she thought she had angered him last time, that he'd never talk to her again. but he did, he messaged her again.

finnwolfy: hey, sorry i didn't respond yesterday. i was just thinking.

finnwolfy: hello?
milbunny: yeah hey sorry. what were you thinking about.
finnwolfy: you

millie's heart started pounding. 'why was he thinking about ME of all people' she thought to herself. she didn't really know how to respond and decided it was okay not to. he left her on seen the other night, why couldn't she do the same?

finn was almost done getting ready for school when he got toothpaste on his shirt. "SHIT" he screamed. "language finny" his mom said as she walked past his room on the way to the laundry room. "mom can you throw this in the washer for me?" he yelled down the hall. "yeah. but you're 17, you should maybe start doing your own laundry" she said, laughing at her statement.

he finished getting ready, grabbed his keys and headed out the door. he was more excited than usual to go to school, because there was a chance he'd get to see the beautiful, petite, now blonde haired girl who lived at the end of his street. his new found liking to this girl was stranger. they didn't really know eachother and had only talked like twice, but there was just something about her that really caught his eye.

he got to school and noticed the girl sitting by herself reading, again. she always seemed to have her nose in a book. he smirked. he wanted badly to walk over to her and say hi, but he wasn't sure it was a good idea.

after a few moments of endless staring, a familiar red-head popped up in front of him. it startled him. "hey, why didn't you text me back last night?" she asked. he just turned around and walked away. she grabbed his arm, and started to squeeze. hard. "you. don't. ignore. me." she said, frightening finn a little bit. "i'm sorry, i was just busy i guess" the curly headed boy responded. they both knew it was a lie, but neither cared.

millie had noticed finn staring at her. and she thought it was more than a little weird, but she was to shy to say anything. he stopped staring when his girlfriend popped up which made it easier for millie to focus on her book. she read for 5 minutes before someone else caught her eye. he was walking into the building with his parents and sister, who seemed to be his age. "they were definitely new," millie said softly.
