Soulmates

Soulmates. What a beautiful topic. You see, love is like wearing a mask, following your instincts. Sometimes, when a person feels comfortable with another, they will shed their mask to reveal their true selves.

Among everyone is a string. This string is not your ordinary "knit into a scarf" kind of string, but one that connects everyone to their soulmates.

On occasion, a string will get tangled into another's, and they never follow their original, as they love this new string so much. This is never a bad thing when they love each other dearly, but some tangled strings lead to bad endings, where someone mean and malicious cut off their partners and break their mask so they can never meet their one true love.

While love is an amazing feeling, the world does not always agree with love. A string will finally meet up, and the world will laugh at the couple as if they were a pair of hippos dancing to a tune. This is why the world agreed to wear their masks.

But these masks never stay on to drown out the hate and disgust. Their hearts are made of steel, and these wonderful human beings are here to show the world that love is love, no matter who it is or what kind.

They'll stand on that stage of society and dance to the most beautiful tune the world had ever heard, strings wrapped around their hands and fingers in gorgeous patterns, smiling the brightest smile anyone had ever seen. Because they were in love, the strongest emotion of them all. And no one in the world could stop these soulmates, whose strings had been sealed for however long they shall love each other.

Love through a soulmate is real, no matter how a human shall look at it. Love through mistake is true if they make it true. And society is broken through the shards of disgust and hatred scattered through it.

"The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind I was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along."
